Squier in UK, should we be worried?

I want to pick up one of these and RB3 in November sometime... do you think they will be back in stock? How can they just discontinue it? I really want to learn guitar but shelling out for a guitar tutor is so expensive.

My gut feeling, looking at this, is that Fender have produced the single batch of guitars that Harmonix paid them for, and don't have any plans to do any more, given the not-massive sales of RB3.

I could be wrong, but I'm glad I decided to grab one a couple of weeks ago. I fear they may be very limited edition, and if you delay you could miss out.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Yeah i told a friend of mine the same thing, buy the guitar asap even if you cant afford the midi or the game cause they wont sell out the guitar will

Me too; ordered a midi pro adapter via ebay. It would kill me to have the Squier sitting in my room for a week or two and nothing to connect it up to.

Thats me I'm afraid, didnt preorder my guitar. Rang around before release and was told I had no chance pretty much, and no news on when Fender would make more, let alone ship to EU. So I thought "screw it, I'm gonna get one from US". I'd won some money playing poker online so the guitar was basically free (brag lol), but I had to pay extra £50 for shipping. Not too bad, cost me £50 now. So I get a letter from HM Customs saying the guitar has arrived in UK, but I owe them another £50 import tax!!!??? WTF??!! So now my "free" $280 guitar has cost me another £100, and with money being tight, that £50 the Govt kindly relieved me of was meant for the MIDI. So I've had my (paid over the odds for) Squier now for 4 days just sitting there while I wait for tomorrow to order the MIDI. Arrgghh

I ordered my midi from amazon they have told me it will not arrive till june cancelled order and bought it from the madcatz website. and giraffe i nearly did that, but after seeing some guy trying to sell it for £300 cause he knew they were hard to come buy i was like nope, managed to get one from germany

Hello, and thanks for signing up to our list to show your interest in the Squier by Fender Rock Band 3 Real Guitar.

Unfortunately, Fender have now confirmed that we will not be able to get hold of any more of the Squier Rock Band guitars.

We do still have stock of the Mad Catz MIDI adapters required to make the guitar interact with Rock Band 3: The Game. Click here if you would like one of those.

Apologies for being the bearer of bad news, and once again - many thanks for your interest in this product. We hope that you'll continue to use Andertons for all your musical needs in the future!

Incredibly disappointed about this. I Tweeted Pope and the official feed to see if there's any word and didn't hear back at all. All a bit "lah lah lah" fingers in ears, really. Unless they can't say "Fender are rubbish, they won't make any more."

theres still a small number of squiers around that were allocated to music shops but werent snapped up - I've found about 5 squiers for sale. couple on ebay (another from USA but seller wants about £400 for it).

Placed an order with Rock Palace, after they took all the money i then get this email.

Onlangs hebt u bij de firma Key Music of Rock Palace een Squier Rock Band Controller besteld. Tot mijn spijt moet ik u mededelen dat deze controllers niet meer geleverd zullen worden. Het aantal beschikbare controllers voor Europa was beperkt en dan ook vrij snel uitverkocht. Aangezien er reden was om aan te nemen dat er misschien toch nog extra Controllers zouden komen is dit door ons niet tijdig aan Rock Palace / Key Music gemeld. Inmiddels is duidelijk dat er echt geen Squier Rock Band Controllers meer komen. Ik wil graag duidelijk aangeven dat deze winkels dan ook geen blaam treft voor het niet meer kunnen leveren van voornoemde artikelen. Een en ander is ontstaan door gebrekkige communicatie van onze kant als leverancier. Namens Fender wil ik u dan ook mijn excuses aanbieden voor deze teleurstellende ervaring.

Recently we sent you in the company Key of Rock Music Palace a Squier Rock Band Controller ordered. I am sorry to inform you that these controllers will no longer be delivered. The number of available controllers in Europe was limited and therefore sell out quickly. Since there was reason to believe that there may still need extra controllers, this would be by us in time at Rock Palace / Key Music reported. It is now clear that there really is no more coming Squier Rock Band Controllers. Let me be clear, therefore, indicate that such stores not to blame for not being able to provide those articles. This is caused by poor communication on our part as a supplier. Fender behalf, I would therefore like to apologize for this disappointing experience.

I am in Australia and got the official notification from Fender Australia today. The rockband squire guitar is discontinued. But they will use the stock they have to cover all of the pre-orders. The remaing stock will then be sold to stores that want them. They will still honour the one year warranty. They gave me the option of cancelling my order. But of course I didnt want to cancel. Was told It should arrive around the end of the month.
Funny how something that has sparked the interest of so many guitar players around my office.. was discontinued almost before it has been released here.
