What pick do you use with the Squier (if any)?
I am new to (electric) guitar and have bought two types of Dunlop picks (Tortex / Gator) in 5 different thickness each to try them out and see what fits me, but I am wondering what you all use.

I originally used my copy of Rock Band 3 for the DS, but being used as a guitar pick isn't very good for a DS card, so I went to Guitar Center and got a pack of Spider-Man picks.
I use one of the two picks that came with the Mustang.
I have spent I think close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold.
I am a complete guitar newb. I started with a 0.60 nylon Dunlop (light gray) which has enough give to be forgiving of a lack of technique. After two months I am starting to use a 0.75 Tortex (yellow) to get more control and power. Go by what feels best to you but start at the thin end and work your way up.
When I was first starting out guitar I liked thin picks because they flexed past the strings easy making them more forgiving to poor technique. As I improved I found myself less and less satisfied with thin picks compared to heavier as they don't feel to me like they're near as precise and that they take away from the actual sound quality. Best tip I can give you is go heavy early. I now use almost nothing but big stubby 2.0mm. They're made of lexan and the grip shape feels almost perfect in my fingers. I also use pretty thick organic picks made of bone and horn but typically I only go for those when playing acoustic. I'm looking to get my hands on a good stone pick or two. But for the price to the performance id definately say try a dunlop big stubby. Most of my friends who have played with one of mine for just a few minutes quickly want to know if they can have 1. They really do feel that much better to play with once you get used to clutching something thicker than a credit card. I think I pay like $5/pack of 6

same here. From reading through this thread sounds like I need to step up to a thicker pick. I really suck after just a week of messing with the mustang. Yea, yea, plastic toy, but for the "learning" aspect not bad! Might help keep my streak going instead of losing it for the string vibrating to much? Or not, I dunno.
Pro Guitar = Easy
Pro Bass = Medium/Hard
Guitar/Bass = Expert
Drums = Medium
I don't have a Squier, but I use 1.14 Dunlop Gators on my real guitar. They feel great, though their material seems to wear down much quicker than most picks. I used to use a mic thinner gauge as it felt better when I was just starting out, but I eventually switched as the thicker gauges give you more control and don't "drag" across the strings like the thinner ones do.
