Have any RBN Authors tried to get Japanese Artists/Bands?

I know it would be hard due to the language barrier but has anyone tried yet?

It would be amazing to have songs from K-On (Ho-kago Tea Time) in Rock Band

It's a long shot but hey, that would be an awesome start to having Japanese songs on RBN.

Not sure if the 2nd link is them or not but I'm 100% sure the 1st link is.

No success so far on our end, but yea we've attempted a few. We were working on one before Japanese became available, since they're instrumental, but we have gone after some J-Pop and Japanese New Wave since then.

Although arguably we already have the first Japanese group on RBN.

Since they were one of the 20 Free DLC from RB2, it would be awesome to get more X Japan

Very nice. I don't generally buy RBN songs, since I mainly play for Pro Guitar, but there's certainly a lot of Japanese bands out there I'd have to pick up.

Agreed. Polysics, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, maybe a bit of Seatbelts to mix it up...

Aside from the language barrier Bravo pointed out, there's also the fact that most Japanese bands you know are on major or semi-major labels, and the bigger the label the harder they are to get involved in RBN. So it's a real uphill battle.

I tried getting Guitar Wolf, but the label said they only go through HMX for RB releases.
I went to Harmonix and ordered a pepperoni pizza. Instead, they gave me a cheese pizza and told me that I could buy one pepperoni slice every week.

I imagine it would be hard for any RBN group to get K-On songs, honestly. K-On is a hot commodity in Japan, and the fees they'd want would probably be fairly high, especially for what is ultimately a more niche DLC sale. Them being in Japanese automatically will make some people not buy, plus being on RBN limits the audience a bit since it doesn't get as much attention and only 360 players have full access. I'd certainly buy if they came out but... just sayin'.

Pony Canyon has the rights to the Mario Kart 64 soundtrack (assuming Wikipedia is to be trusted). Get to work, people!

Orange Range and Nobody Knows would be great, in my opinion.
