I didn't really like my prom. My school was overcrowded enough as it is, so combining that in a smaller area made it a claustrophobic nightmare. After prom... I honestly don't remember, me and my date hung out with some friends, next thing I remember it's 6 years later and we hate each other.

My mom made me go to my prom. Biggest waste of money ever. I should've asked for cash and spent it on something else.

People can be forced to a prom? That is quite strange.

Well, talked into it, I suppose would be the better wording. I didn't want to go but my mom was like "YOU HAVE TO!!! IT'S *YOUR PROM*!!! YOU'LL REGRET IT FOREVER!!!!"

Biggest waste of money and time ever.

lol and don't anybody go assuming I'm just bitter cuz I didn't have a date or anything stupid like that, cuz that wasn't really a big deal in my class. I had a boyfriend from a different grade and I told him to save his money and stay home, and all my other friends were single, so we just went in a huge group. It was still epically lame lol

To avoid any drunk driving accidents, our school hosted this colossal party the night of graduation that didn't get out until dawn-ish. Upon leaving with the friends I went with, I made some comment to the tune of having had a blast and it was great to see everyone, when my friend replied, "Yeah, although it's weird - it still feels like we're gonna see all those kids again on Monday." And that was the fact that we wouldn't sunk in with all its gravity - ten minutes after the last time I saw 90% of those people.

So if you're one of those people who thinks of their classmates as a reason to put as many miles as possible between you and your hometown after graduation, then prom is pretty much little more than a financial sinkhole. But if you think of them as mostly a pretty good crowd, then prom's pretty much engineered to be one of those squeezes on your senior year to get out all the good memories you can. I'm not saying definitely go to prom - I didn't and I don't regret it either (my friends and I made a night of it doing something else, and had a good time) - just don't take the finite opportunities to spend time with company you enjoy for granted.

Prom... Prom... Oh yeah, that thing I went to thirty years ago... I kinda remember that. Thought it was a big deal at the time, I suppose it was at that age. Lots of things were special at that age. Driving a car, getting laid for the first time, having your first drink. At my age, staying awake past 10pm is a big thing

Everyone should try to go to their prom, the next time you get dressed up and have fun will be for your wedding. Never pass up a chance to experence a large group of people who are enjoying themselves.

I don't remember much from my prom. The after party involved condoms and pot. Those were popular in the mid-90's. But I can't really talk more about that, as it would get too sexually explicit and the mods of the forums may not appreciate that.

The after prom is definitely where it's at, especially when they have Rock Band set up. Screw put-put golfing, LET'S DRUMMMMMMMMMM. I seem to remember trying Train Kept A Rollin' on the RB1 drums and failing out on the completely unresponsive red pad.

This is bringing back bad memories of the RB1 equipment...

Oh man, the stories I could share as a teacher but won't because I like my job.
