5/23/11 DLC Discussion Thread - Lady Gaga, Foreigner & 2 legacy Pro Guitar upgrades

I only ask because I don't think you've liked any dlc this year.

There hasn't been a ton of stuff I liked since rock band 3 came out, but I have gotten a few songs this year. I got a couple of the Fleetwood Mac songs, some Pat Benatar, all the Depeche Mode, NIN and Stone Sour tracks and three of four songs from the Valentines pack. I also picked up a handful of songs off RNB, and I will be buying the whole Ozzy pack and I'll probably get a couple of the Pantera tracks eventually, although I would have preferred songs off Cowboys from Hell.

That said, there have only been a few weeks with music I would have actually requested. Most of what i did buy was for either my wife of my kids. The only week I was actually excited about was the Nine Inch Nails pack. Even on the weeks I found a couple of older songs to buy, I would have preferred newer ROCK. It usually seems like when we do get new music, it is either really obscure, in a foreign language or not at all ROCK... like this week. :/

Remember folks, not everyone has the same tastes. That said, I do hope that when something you don't like comes out, you can at least understand that not only will someone else like it, but likely it will sell in some way.

In particular, Lady Gaga sells, and sells well. It climbed the 360 charts pretty quickly, and gets lots of plays if you follow the leaderboards. Neither of which are 100% accurate, but clearly indicate it's popular, so a new pack makes sense. You don't have to like it, you can always wait for something else, but some folks somewhere like it, and that's what HMX cares about.
