I think he's just being helpful providing a quick link, that will help people get one before they are all gone forever?? hopefully they make more or a new version. I have one and it kicks ass.

i went ahead and ordered one of these from Buy.com, though it will be a financial hardship . It was a 50 cent upgrade to 2-day shipping so if they ship tomorrow I should have it Tuesday.

It would be great if all of this a sham, but circumstantial evidence piles up. Last week, Google Shopping was showing 7 e-tailers offering it for list price, including Guitar Center and Musicians Friend; now there's only 5 (no GC or MF) and 2 of them give an error message if you try to get to their page. www.fender.com/rockband is still there, but the page for the product is gone from www.squierguitars.com.

I like how the "AND NOW" at the end of his post acts as a perfect setup for the HMX edit.

That Harmonix quote at the end of the OP has me feeling better. Hopefully everything will work out.

    Or even a $280 controller?

Just as long as pro guitar is continued to be supported, preferably until the end of the franchise. I really hope another manufacturer (one that can make them correctly at a pace this time would be great) takes Fender's place.

Regardless of whether or not Fender is discontinuing the Squier, I will bet everything I own that their response is going to be 'We fully support Pro mode and we will continue to have DLC for a long time".

And I'm sure they have a whole bunch of DLC already good to go.
