Perhaps people shouldn't whine when artists they don't like are featured prominently in the game. I stand by others' assertion that you wouldn't be unhappy about it if it was a band you liked that had dozens of songs on RBN and was made artist of the month. Expressing your opinion nicely isn't frowned upon, but posting something along the lines of "Boo!" because you don't like it is immature.

No. I would not like this that much more if JoCo got this much attention. It'd get old. Too much of a good thing, ya know? And just what the hell was I supposed to do? If I had put my response in any other way, would it have made it a difference?

No matter how I had put it, my feelings would still be the same: "Boo!". I just felt like posting what I did: "Really? Ugh." And, ya know what, maybe I was a little too rude. But, so what? Do I really need to be called out like this? I mean, you guys are just really getting way too defensive.

Your position is that AD doesn't deserve an honour created to recognize and show appreciation for bands that have embraced the RBN because they release too many songs through RBN which you find annoying and because you don't like them.

Well, maybe they do deserve it in that sense. Although, I've always thought it was for bands who were excellent and needed a teency more recognition.

But, it may not even be about them deserving it or not. It's just the fact they did get it. My complaint was that they are EVERYWHERE. 3 songs in one week and others in the previous and following weeks, they have their own thread, everyone thinks they're so amazing, etc. and now they're AotM. All this AD talk just had me annoyed.

No, you're being too defensive by refusing to admit that you posted anything that others could reasonably object to. This argument only continues because you keep feeling a need to defend your position that AD doesn't deserve to be honored as artist of the month.

You're entitled to your opinion. That doesn't mean, however, that every venue is the appropriate place to express that opinion, especially when you express it as poorly and rudely as you did in your initial post, and for most of the remainder of the thread. Now stop continuing to derail the thread. Go be annoyed somewhere else.

...the think i most like about these AOFM announcements is they usually are accompanied by an interview from HMX. Im not sure if there is one for this announcement as i sadly dont always notice these threads devoted to AOTM when they get posted as i dont actively seek them out but i do rather liked the HMX interviews and it also spurs me to check out the bands RBN songs on the likely chance i never gave them a look first time round.

I'm in with the crowd that's shocked AD haven't been AotM yet. I like AD, but I don't think it's about musical taste, honestly. AD really shows, IMHO, what the RBN can do for the game, HMX, the artists and the fans of RB. There is hardly a more deserving candidate for AotM. If they are getting a lot of attention for it, it's because it's well deserved. Here's to hoping more bands get into the RBN like AD does.
