The PS3 RBN 2.0 Songs Request Thread

Oh, cool, next week we'll get Mystakin, Ra Ra Riot (yay!) and one of my favourite song in the RBN platform, The Way It Ends by Prototype. This is defenetly great.

About the MOAR METAL thing... it's safe to say that the PS3 audience, with RB3, changed almost drastically their musical tastes in something more... mellow... or Rock-ish. I love variety, since I love metal and prog as well, but in parties I prefer to play stuff like Indie, pop-rock, or rock ala Free Spirit.

People used to complain that all RBN was was metal. We wanted a variety, and now we get a good mixture. Now, I feel like we need MOAR METAL. I won't complain about the non-metal tracks we've gotten lately. There have been a lot of really great picks there. I just feel like out of what's left to get ported over, I want to see some more metal.

Some of those are RBN1.0 i think?
Have they authored bumblefoot in Rbn2.0? Not sure?

I won't expect it. But I would buy it if it came (hint, hint). Only 3 more days of exclusivity for it, so it's eligible for the next update after Tuesday's (or...actually, it would have been eligible for Tuesday's!).


Do you have that data because your group authored it, or is it publicly available somehow?

Just because we authored it (do I know exact numbers).

There are sites that track leader board scores logged to a song and it will give you a rough idea of what a song is doing in sales, but the only way to know exact numbers is to be the author of said track.

in my opinion, the voices of the forums are the main criteria for PS3 ports. we still get some randomly out in left field, but I think overall HMX is just looking to please the voices requesting things.

that said, given ATF's involvement and everything else around here, I think cheesy pop song will get ported, but not for a month or so if not a little longer

Interesting, I've always assumed that sales would be the biggest factor. If player requests are indeed the main criteria, thats a really good thing.

Actually, from what I've heard, sales are far from the main criteria. It's the metal songs that tend to sell better on the 360. If it were up to sales alone, we would get 4 or 5 metal songs a week. I know, I know, I'm sort of alone as the "MOAR METAL" guy here, and that's fine. In the past 12 weeks, we've gotten 15 songs that are described as metal. We're getting metal 25% of the time, and some of those choices haven't been the kind of metal I'm looking for anyway. You're all entitled to your opinions of course, and as always, I've enjoyed a lot of what's been chosen. I just feel like out of the songs left unreleased at this point, I want more of the metal songs! We're getting one, MAYBE two metal songs a week, and I'd like to see more in line with two or three. Some weeks, we could even do with up to four. Again, that's just my opinion/suggestion. You're all entitled to your own, because after all, that's what this thread is for, right?

Mystakin is a great Metal-instrumental sounding group! Definitely check that out this week!
I got on his stuff on xbox, definitely getting on ps3 too.
