Both Gabriel-era Genesis and Kamelot are top ten bands for me. Although thinking about the latter just makes me want to knock some sense into Roy Khan again.

I think it might be criminal saying this but I'm well interested to see which vocalist the band will come across next. It is pretty disappointing to see Khan go though, a puzzle piece that well fitted to the band that finally gave Kamelot the ability to release a couple of extraordinary albums. I look forward to both the band's ability to try to keep the fire burning and Khan's possible future career.

I'm not sure Khan will have a much of career after this, unless possibly in the Christian rock/metal scene... and my opinion on that is still on par with Hank Hill ("Can't you see you're not making Christianity better? You're just making rock n' roll worse!")

I have to say that the singer from Rhapsody did a commendable job as a stand-in on the last tour, and that did give me new confidence on the ability of Kamelot themselves to continue, but the search for a new lead singer will be an interesting one for sure.
