I pay far more attention to the background than the note chart when playing, and really only read the notes with peripheral vision. The thing I really liked about the game was watching my characters doing an excellent performance to the music I like.
The actual chart doesnt really mean much to me. Its more of something to do while I watch my band. I have a hard time just sitting down and watching something without doing stuff with my hand, so if I watch a film, I find most of the time I end up painting figures or something. Just charts alone wouldnt interest me at all if Im honest. So yeah, to me the background visuals are definitely a big deal

Edit - Reread that it sounded kinda hostile (at least to me). Im not saying my way of playing is the only way. If you enjoy the combination of charts and music, then awesome. Stuff like that just doesnt do anything for me. Same with stuff like leaderboards and high scores. I can see why people like them, but Ive never aimed to get highscores in games, and as far as I can remember, Ive only looked at around 5 leaderboards in games in about 12 years

Again, Seattle made a comment in favor of the graphics and you have to post another "justification" as if the one you made before hadn't hit home for him. Using your "facetious" mode again.

And neither one of them said that the way you play is wrong either. We all get it. WE KNOW YOU LOVE YOUR GRAPHICS. And repeating yourself doesn't make you any more right than he is.

As for the original OP, I'm sure he made the posts in bewilderment of how many posts there were about graphics, not realizing that most of them are the same people over and over and over.
Heaven forbid I talk about the graphics in a graphics post (without going into an animation opinion). Big deal if it's the same people, as been stated by many folks (including myself) we here at the forums represent a super duper small portion of the community. There's less voices to be seen/read all around so you are going to see us over and over again (the ones you like and the ones you don't). That's for ANY post here that has a following, be it discussing graphics, pro, charting, upset at DLC choice, whatever... just depends on the topic as to who you'll see over and over again.

What do you truly expect us regulars who care about this particular subject matter to do when somebody new posts about it in some form? Just pretend it's not there? Perhaps thats the route you should consider. I do it for topics I know I'm not vaguely interested (or are 'predictable' in who might be posting) in around here.

Please show me where I said don't express your opinion at all? It's the repetition that I made a comment about. The repetition of other people in the other threads is nowhere near the level expressed by the "people interested in graphics". And in the posts where they get to a level of repetition, the people in that thread will start to complain back at them. Everything you have said can be found in this thread and others numerous times.

And also about allowing someone to have their own opinion. Every time someone makes a post contrary to what you believe, they don't need to be "corrected" or "informed". If he read the prior posts, then he already knows what you think, if he didn't, he isn't going to read your response and doesn't really care what your justification is.

"I don't understand" suggests a lack of understanding and therefore an opening for further discussion or clarification. So yes, there would be a need to "inform". As far as correction, I haven't seen much. People have said why they like the background element component and why, people have said why they don't like the background component and why. It's a discussion and exchange of opinions and ideas, what forums are for. No one is violating any rules, and you finding a topic or poster repetitive isn't exactly a crime either.

Rather than obsessing over how many times who posts what, declaring how futile voicing opinions on the game developer's forums is, or any myriad of less than productive activities on your part, find a topic you're passionate about and go nuts. But as sure as the sun is going to come up, whenever a topic about graphics or animations come up the people that are interested in it are going to talk about it, and it will probably be many of the same people. Because, well, they like the topic.

Because they talked about it a year, a month, 2 weeks ago, or however far back blkshp's memory reaches, they can NEVER talk about it again if it comes up in later topic, started by someone flatout asking for opinions, is just silly.
