Well, I reached Rank 4 and have decided I'm pretty much done. Lots of shooting and lots of dying out of nowhere isn't the kind of repetition I enjoy in gaming. I'll take scrolling gems that match the rhythm of a song, thanks.

Not gonna bother with the rest of the campaign either because I've seen it before: Terrorists and nukes. Truly a letdown; I honestly thought it would be different from CoD, but I find myself with the same bitter taste 70 ranks of MW2 multiplayer left me. I want to trade it in, but I don't want to insult my dad since it was a Christmas present to my brother, who feels the same.

If you're playing it on PS3, you can play with us!
Playing with friends always makes things better, and yeah the campaign is not cool, but the multiplayer is pretty nifty.

I wish that every character would just take that stick out of their ass and have a good time though, like in the original Bad Company (and to a lesser extent Bad Company 2).

Thanks guys, but I've learned that adding friends to a game I already don't enjoy doesn't better the experience for me. Same thing happened with my friends and the Halo series. Still can't stand it even among bros.

Multiplayer is just...eh. I knew things would go downhill when I realized both sides (US and RUS) have separate weapon loadouts for the same classes. This wouldn't be a problem if when I unlocked a scope for my rifle, it was accessible to me without needing to be on a specific team.

Maybe I just don't like FPS games save for three gems (Half Life 2, Metroid Prime, and Bioshock) mostly because they don't feel like a traditional FPS. I don't feel engaged and immersed in these military shooters, just annoyed and frustrated.

The starting weapons for each class are separate for the Americans and Russians, but every weapon you unlock can be used at anytime within that class. So, say you're an engineer. To start, if you're American, you have an M4, a Russian the AK. However, once you unlock the SCAR-H you can use that weapon at anytime. The same goes for the 5th class. (Handguns, shotguns, and subs) They can be used at anytime. Eventually you'll also unlock it to where all weapons can be used in a class.

So essentially I can see how it's frustrating with the starting weapons because it takes you longer to get attachments, but the unlocked weapons go faster because you don't have to switch. (Unless you switch classes)

    I thought you liked TF2 D:
Have you tried MAG? It's weird, but it has that whole sense of different loadouts per team thing you were talking about.
And I liked the scope of it, it really made you feel like you were part of something greater. The gameplay itself was average though, but I still recommend it because its just that strange.

    Good points.

Also, it takes more than 2.5 hours of play to figure out the maps, the flow of the game modes and all the ins & outs.

All that being said, it's just not some people's cup of tea.

I find it incredibly compelling and dynamic and with almost 80 hours of MP playtime I am still learning tricks and strategies and new reasons to love playing.

I haven't played TF2 in quite awhile, but I will say it's the only FPS game with no single player that drew me in with its charm, looks, and variety. Almost everything about TF2 felt unique and every class was well defined in their roles. Plus, every class member had personality. In the multiplayer of games like CoD or BF, I'm just some faceless character off to die. I never considered MAG because it just seems like more of the same, but on a wider scale.

I'm just not very good with these types of games where a split second can mean life or death, especially since everyone just seems to blend in with the dominating gray/black color palate. I know with playing longer you get better and unlock improved gear, but I don't think even such a basic progression in skill applies to me for these army shooters.

By the time I was nearing 1st Prestige in MW2, I didn't feel like I had really improved from when I started out. Getting five kills without dying was still a rarity, and even though I had unlocked some decent killstreaks, I knew with my skill I would never reach 7 or more kills without dying.

I think there should be a stat tracker and special awards for shooting down aircraft with the tanks main cannon.
