Completely agree, City of Corruption is the only one I can complete so far but I extremely enjoy playing the majority of Morte et Dabo and Your Troubles Will Cease before failing out, mostly because of left leg stamina, the other ones will take awhile. It's kind of like playing Dark Souls, even though you know you're going to get destroyed it's still great fun because eventually you will do the destroying.
Just to revisit this to see how the PS3 2X stuff is selling. Numbers grabed from Keldon's site (RockBandScores.com)
2X Pedal:
City of Corruption (2x Bass Pedal) - 146
Morte et Dabo (2x Bass Pedal) - 123
Your Troubles Will Cease and Fortune Will Smile Upon You (2x Bass Pedal) - 91
The Space for This (2x Bass Pedal) - 91
Alaska (2x Bass Pedal) - 86
Not bad. Not great for PS3 RBN stuff, but not bad, given sales were expected to be lower (3 in the bottom 6 total played songs, but 2 of those were RBN2 songs.
Normal
City of Corruption - 187
Morte et Dabo - 799*
Your Troubles Will Cease and Fortune Will Smile Upon You - 116
The Space for This - 136
Alaska - 785*
* Songs released prior to this release week.
For comparison, the other 2 songs released that week:
Soy Bomb - 246
Doppelgänger - 355
Now, the only thing I can't tell you, is how many folks bought both versions, at least not without a lot more info than I have and am willing to get.
What does this mean? No clue, it's not official sales numbers. If they're representative, it likely means that 2x sales take away form 1x sales (duh), and that there's not a huge market, but they've still sold better than most of the Wii RBN songs when that was canceled from what I remember, at least if you combine the sales.
I'll check again in 2 weeks.

One other thing that's noteworthy* in the leaderboard-derived numbers:
Late releases on 2x Bass Pedal are not good for sales of the 2x Bass Pedal version. (You can work this out by comparing the Xbox sales-per-day numbers to the PS3 sales-per-day numbers on the old and new songs.)
* And yet kind of common-sense.
Yeah, not quite on the "Duh" category but to be expected. I'm guessing that means that likely future 2X bass weeks will be "Here's both the 1X and 2X songs", if they happen.
Obviously, you have much better metrics that I have (or at least I hope you do), and I only have the raw numbers, so I can't do any account tracking, or investigating how many non-expert drum plays the 2X versions got.
In 2 weeks, I'll check on them again, which will indicate if they have continued sales or if the initial push of double base pedal drummers results in most of the sales.
