I can't really say any artists have made their way to my iPod directly because of the RBN, but at least one has been helped by their presence in the RBN. Eventually it will be at least two.

I first got into the Apples in Stereo after a blurb on allmusic.com talked about the video for "Dance Floor" featuring Elijah Wood. Being a Beatles and ELO fan, it only took one listen to hook me. It was around that time that AiS also began appearing in the RBN. I snatched up what I could there and then got a couple of their CDs as birthday gifts. To any authors listening, I would love to see RB3 versions of the Apples' tunes.

Jonathan Coulton of course was making himself known before the RBN was launched, but I hadn't heard much beyond "Code Monkey" and "Still Alive" before his appearance in Rock Band. I liked those then and I've come to like even more tracks of his now, including "Creepy Doll" and "Chiron Beta Prime." I'm going to get some of his stuff on my iPod Real Soon Now.

PS: I also like Van Canto, especially their covers of "Fear of the Dark" and "Battery."
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!

Not including artists I already listened to before RBN, my list now includes:

    Stuff I found while playtesting:
    Bioshaft
    Dillinger Escape Plan
    Look Left
    Ultra Vomit
    Nevermore

Stuff I found in the store:
    Parry Gripp
    Ronald Jenkees
    Look Mexico
Affiance (because of their video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qavRSItRlvM)

People I've personally worked with and may be unreleased thus far:
    Blame Ringo
    The Irresponsibles
    Drugstore Fanatics
    an Unkindness
    The MacHams
    Miracle of Sound

Kiev and The Giraffes have become two of my new favorite bands. I also first heard Rx Bandits on RBN, who I've recently fallen in love with.

I can't get enough of any of those three bands. Thanks to their respective authors (RockGamer, Ozone, and Wavegroup, I believe).

Free Spirit has made a permanent home in my car CD rotation. Bang Camaro as well (I knew I liked them from the first 2 RB games, but the RBN songs sold me on getting their CDs). Rose of Jericho is awesome as well. Drugstore Fanatics has been a good addition to my library, though they don't get as much play.

Oh, and JoCo. Can't forget him.

I have to admit that there are more cases where a band I listen to made it into RBN than that I actively listen to new finds, but I do find myself listening to Children of Nova and Mile Marker Zero on a pseudo-regular basis.

And Van Canto is a band that you need to have seen live. Their live performances are very, very awesome.

I haven't even made it to San Antonio for Rose of Jericho. Europe for Van Canto is a ways out.
