Oh I feel like a sucker cuz i went out and spent money on something that is pretty much useless to me as 90% of my friends have upgraded to the rb3 version or never had the CTP2 and now the only time they will be played is by myself so yeah kinda feel like a fool and now there are saying if they do get codes it will only be for a few hundred people and not once did I say HMX tricked us I understand licensing and stuff and I don't even want a free code all i was suggesting was a discount like with pro upgrades. You have to add you CTP2 code in and then you get the songs for 1.00/track...well WTF is that. so yea SUCKERWho's a sucker? We got the songs quite a bit ahead of anybody else, were able to export them to RB2, and had the advantage of additional Achievements or Trophies to hunt for that people won't get who download this pack.
Both have their strengths and weaknesses. But don't act like HMX set out on a mission to trick us. Especially since the option was always there to wait for the songs to be made available as DLC.

Yep, that is almost certainly true. I never would have paid full price for this collection, but I picked an export code at a discount. Someday I hope to pick up the disc itself, because I love trophies! I suppose I could just rent it ...

It is a shame, and yes I would fully support a cheaper upgrade path from legacy to RB3 versions but it is a little complicated for HMX to get this done so we have this problem. HMXhenry is trying to be helpful, so just add your name onto the list with the rest of us who purchased CTP2 and keep those pinkies crossed.![]()

Codes likely aren't going to go out until they're certain they've got a good system for distributing them. I'd rather they took their time then just start pumping codes out.
...Yes, even if it means I never get one.

HMXhenry already said it comes down to the honor system. I doubt he has the time or resources to indepth check everyone. He can start with the previous thread and then the posts in this thread before it was known about the possible DLC codes. Since those who posted then will likely be the ones who purchased it to start with.
Then I guess he could look at the later posters who gave pic links, but I guess it all comes down to time which he probably does not have.

See, what I'm cynically pointing out is that none of these people who are suddenly so eager to prove that they own the pack and think they deserve a free upgrade were willing to pitch in when half of the forum was shouting the rest of us down for daring to be upset about the situation.
But now that they might get something for free, of COURSE they're interested. I'm not sure what word I would use to describe it, but I'm pretty sure that any word I attempted to use would get me in trouble.
For me, it's enough to know that Harmonix has apologized and will (hopefully) not make such a blunder in the future.

Well, after seeing some of the charts on YouTube, I must say the keys in most of these songs are pretty damn decent, especially in Ride and Summer Nights. I'm still not buying them, but possibly Ring of Fire, which I haven't seen the charts for yet.
Also, Ride has an excellent guitar chart, and I'm glad that got a pro upgrade.
