No, sorry, I don't think I explained that clearly.
Here's a quick run down of the process for this situation. 1) Identify the issue 2) QA reproduces the issue 3) QA identifies the fix & tests internally 4) Production submits the proposed fix to MSFT 5) Microsoft tests & approves 6) QA verifies that the fix is live and ready to be distributed. We're on 6 now, but the fix is kind of unique so it may still take a few days to settle on method of distribution.
Hope that makes more sense!
Thanks for keeping us informed of how its going, I really appreciate it since I have brought a lot of DLC just lately![]()
Come on lets give these 5 artists some DLC love please!
Bruce Springsteen
Mumford and Sons
Fine Young Cannibals
Ocean Colour Scene
Feeder
One last update pre holiday and then I think next week we'll be able to start rolling out a fix.
So this has passed all stages of testing, submission and approvals, which is awesome news. Thanks to everyone for providing info and hanging in there while we resolved the issue. This is actually something of a unique situation, in that it only affects RB3 on one console in one region. As a result, another patch may not be the most direct solution.
What we're going to do is provide a DLC code to affected users which will effectively unlock the songs lost after the most recent title update. This will get the songs back in your library and everything should operate exactly as it did previously.
We'll have next steps posted early next week, but essentially all you'll have to do is send a message to a support email, state that you're one of the EU 360 users affected by this issue, include your name and gamertag and we'll reply back with a code. Should be pretty painless.
I'll follow up on Monday with the support address and an email template that you can just copy and paste and then fill in your details. No muss, no fuss!
Will the DLC code be unique or universal? It'd great to just pass along the same code to affected players.
They're unique. Microsoft has certain restrictions in place for how codes can be generated, and how many codes can be generated, especially when redeemable for potentially paid content. If we were to set up a universal code in unlimited quantities there would be nothing to prevent unaffected users from redeeming it for access to songs that they would otherwise have to purchase. Unique codes and gamertag verification will help us ensure that these codes get to the people that really need them.
Henry, I'd just like to say well done to you and the dev team for getting this sorted in a miniscule window. With other developers we would have been lucky to see an update so quickly, if at a all, for what was really a minor scale problem in the scheme of things. Take a bow lads and lasses!
