Also, if we cannot find a good drummer (or no one can provide good drum recordings), I've got a few sets of drum midi stuff that I've had a few years of practice to make sound real enough to sound good, if that helps.

Oh, and I would have to record sometime during the two weeks after this upcoming week.

I'm doing drums. Well, sort of. I don't any any drum mics, and even if I did, all my cymbals are busted, so they sound like total crap, and I don't have the $$$ for replacements, so I have to program them.

I also recommend drums first. It's must easier to lay down a guitar line with an established drum beat underneath.

Before we do that, though, we should think of a structure. A very common, easy-to-use one is:
    Verse 1
    Chorus
    Verse 2
    Chorus
    Bridge
    Chorus

I imagine an intro or outro too. The Bridge would be where all the solos would go, too, if there were any (or before/after the bridge, at least) and the Choruses (Chori?) could also get longer as the song goes on (sometimes artists have the first chorus be half the length of the full chorus, and the third one be the full chorus twice, or some variation on that)

And then the lyrics can either be about love or food, unless we actually want to think of something original.

If we want to have one person moderating this all in-house, I have a studio I can use to save all the files, work on mixing, etc, etc (I can also provide backup vocals and such)

Also, I can do lead vocals and bass if no one else ends up offering, but I think it'd be good to have a legit bassist, at least (since I kinda suck) and a legit vocalist (even though I could probably pull it off if you guys wanted me to, but I do also kinda suck at that)

I kinda want to do what the Beatles did:

Whoever wrote the lyrics did the lead vocals, then the rest could join in as backup. That is, if everyone's cool with that.

I'm cool with that. Of course, the Beatles had a very good knowledge of vocal harmonies. If random people just sing random things, it might sound like crap. What I'm trying to say is, only those who are confident in their singing abilities should volunteer.
