    Let's start a "Breaks" list!

When I say "breaks" I'm referring to rock, soul, etc. songs that were later sampled by hip-hop, R&B and dance artists.

Hip-Hop fans: we should start a list of breaks that are available as exports/DLC (for educational purposes), and possibly a wishlist for others.

I'll throw out the first ones.

    AVAILABLE BREAKS:

    1. "Let's Dance" by David Bowie; sampled by Diddy on "Victory" ft. the Notorious B.I.G.
    2. "Edge of Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks; sampled by Destiny's Child on "Bootylicious"
    3. "Crazy Train" by Ozzie Osbourne; sampled by Lil Jon on Trick Daddy's "Let Go" ft. Twista
    4.
    5.

    WISHLIST BREAKS:

    1. "I Keep Forgetting" by Michael McDonald; sampled by Warren G on "Regulate" ft. the late Nate Dogg
    2. "Woman To Woman" by Joe ****er; sampled by Dr. Dre on 2Pac's "California Love"
    3. "Crazy On You" by Heart; sampled by Eminem on "Crazy In Love" (C'mon Harmonix, grab a live version or something so I can keep working on my Guitar Hero 2 setlist, lol)
    4.
    5.

Anyone else have some others to add to this list?

I'm not very familiar with breaks, but does "I Wish" by Stevie Wonder count? It was sampled by Will Smith for the song "Wild Wild West".
    Wishes:
"God Knows..." by Aya Hirano - from Haruhi Suzumiya
    "Otherworld" by The Black Mages
"Storywriter" by Supercar - from Eureka Seven

If you want this list to be accurate, it's going to be a loooooooong list. I'll give you a few to start.

Stevie Wonder has been sampled by countless people, including his songs Superstition, Living for the City, and Sir Duke by artists like Usher, A Tribe Called Quest, and Beat Squad

Red Hot Chili Peppers was sampled quite a bit by artists like Mos Def, Girl Talk, Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube

Coldplay, including their songs "Viva La Vida" and "Clocks", have been sampled by artists like Girl Talk, Brandy, Natti, and Swizz Beatz

Blink 182 doesn't have many, but "The Rock Show" was sampled by Sickboy in "Time to Play", and "I Miss You" was sampled by Ich + Ich in "Hilf Mir"

Limp Bizkit's "Nookie" was sampled by Girl Talk, DJ Sharpnel, and Tommyknocker

Slipknot's "Snuff" was sampled by Sutter Kain and Donnie Darko

Weezer's "The Sweater Song" and "Say It Ain't So" were sampled by 2Mex and Girl Talk

My only wishlist break I can think of right now is:

    1. "Pain" by Ohio Players; sampled by Gang Starr's "Love Sick", J Dilla's "One", and A Tribe Called Quest's "What Really Goes On". This song has awesome piano, drumming, guitar, vocals... just great overall.

It might be easier to do a BREAK TRACK/HIP HOP TRACK list, track by track instead of artist by artist like:

    1. "Inna Gadda Da Vida" by Iron Butterfly / "Thief's Theme" by Nas
    2. "The Edge" by David Axelrod / "The Next Episode" by Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg
    3. "Sugar On My Tongue" by Talking Heads / "Sugar (Gimme Some) - Trick Daddy ft. Cee-Lo
    4. "Genius of Love" by Tom Tom Club / "It's Nasty" by Grandmaster Flash
    5. "Crazy Train" by Ozzie Ozbourne / "Let's Go" by Trick Daddy ft. Lil Jon & Twista
    6. "Five To One" by The Doors / "Takeover" by Jay-Z
    7. "Woman to Woman" by Joe ****er / "California Love" by 2Pac ft. Dr. Dre

Crazy Train we already have...the others represent a wishlist. PLUS, it'd be cool to release the break and the hip-hop track simultaneously: ie. "I Keep Forgetting" by Michael MacDonald and "Regulate" by Warren G and Nate Dogg.
