I first played Rock Band at my younger brother's house around the holidays. I had only just played Guitar Hero a few months before that, and although I didn't get the appeal of five button plastic guitar action, I was excited by the prospect of being able to play the drums and sing when told that a new game was coming out with these features. I had wanted to play the drums since I was a teen, but my living situation never allowed it. I was also concerned about investing in something that I might have no ability with. I picked up the drums on Medium right away, and new that I had to break down and finally buy an Xbox 360 (I rarely played video games). I dropped a lot of money at Best Buy to get the system and the bundle, but I played the hell out of it. We're talking sometimes eight hours a day. It made me realize that I had what it took to become a drummer, and so I sought out a drum teacher, who quickly helped me to break my self-taught bad habits. Interestingly enough, my average score increased from 95% to 99% after a few lessons, because most of the skills translate over. I still use Rock Band to practice drums on a daily basis, and I'm thankful for the tools that Harmonix has provided me. Keep up the DLC!
