In Spinal Tap, my fave spoof is when Harry Shearer plays a redundant double-necked bass on "Big Bottom" as a tip of the hat to Jimmy Page's famed double-neck Gibson.
As for Dewey Cox, I loved it when he brought in an of army of whacky musicians into the studio as a spoof of Brian Wilson when the Beach Boys did "Pet Sounds." Great flick if you haven't seen it yet.

Randy Coven used to have that ridiculus double neck bass with DOUBLE WHAMMY bar!
