I snatched it all up even though Radio Ga Ga will never see the light of day or morning or night on my watch.

Totally nostalgic for me, and listening to my 11 year old son hit the Freddie notes made me want to get castrated so I could give it a shot.

I must say I like this pack more than last year's Queen Extravaganza pack.

Because this one has 9 songs as opposed to 5, (not counting WWRY and WATC b/c we already had them for a year).

Of course this Extstravagenza pack would be better. But the last one did have Keep Yourself Alive, my personal favorite Queen song.

Which is why ultimately, the absolute best thing that could happen is for the Queen discographies to be released as full albums. They wrote the music in such a way that one song would often lead into the next with a short musical interlude.

One of these leads was omitted in the blatant cutoff after the song Tenement Funster. On the album, the song ends in a few measures of piano that neatly weave into the beginning of the next song, "Flick of the Wrist" - which in itself is an OUTSTANDING piece. Those who don't know any better (or have not heard the album in full) might not miss it, but for those in the know, it's much less satisfying.

Alterations from the originals are not always favorable, especially where the songs are written as a "dynamic weave". Regardless, I would never complain about having any Queen song.....

Thanks for posting this, BTW! As I said before, that video sold me on the DLC which I've had more fun playing than any of the four songs I bought out of this new pack. (Love those songs, but their 5-button-guitar-playable charts mostly were un-fun to play).

Unfortunately I wasted $3 on the legacy version and its pro guitar/bass upgrade, going back to get the RB3 version for its keys charts after realizing my mistake. Legacy songs with RB3 versions ought to be marked somehow. Just listing them one above the other would be cool, but the legacy version of this one was listed under its album's heading in the store when I browsed by artist, whereas the RB3 version was listed further down under the "Queen Enhanced Pack" heading .

I'm not familiar enough with the earlier works to appreciate (or unappreciate) the clipped endings of "Tenement Funster" and "Seven Seas of Rye," but I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the ending of "Radio Ga Ga." It had to be manufactured, of course, since the original fades out, but here it's just so sudden. We're in the middle of a chorus and then, BAM! One more chord, done.

I think Harmonix could have come up with a more natural-sounding ending using some of the bits in the middle of the song, and then finishing with the line, "Someone still loves you." They have made endings like this before, such as for "Listen to the Music" by the Doobie Brothers.

But, brick wall of an ending or not, it's still a cool song and a worthy addition to the library.
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!

My favorite edited ending was Steve Miller Band's "The Joker" finishing with the whistle. It was jarring the first time, but still really cool. I'm totally going to sing the regular song's final audible "da da daaaa da da" from "Don't Stop Me Now" in a group/party setting and embarrass the heck out of myself since the game will have gone silent.
