Rock Band Decades: Hits of the 1970s

Here it is, the exciting next installment of the Rock Band Decades games setlists! Rock Band Decades: Hits of the 1970s, is bigger, badder, and 70s-er. Finding all 70s songs was extremely easier than finding songs for the 60s. Because of the thousand 70s artists and bands, this game has a setlist of 80 songs, ranging from George Harrison to Black Sabbath to Dolly Parton (just to name a few). Tell me what you think. Some choices may not be first choice picks for the game, so please give me suggestions for what you want and what you think I should replace.

No, because he picked the studio version. He shoulda picked the live one.

I guess instrumentals don't fit as well in a setlist than songs with vocals. "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" is in.

I guess I forgot the simple equation:

Peter Frampton + Live = EPIC!

    Feedback!

    1970

    “The Wizard”
    Black Sabbath
    Black Sabbath

My first thought was "Iron Man"... then again, I'm not a huge Black Sabbath fan.

    “Our House”
    Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
    Déjà Vu

The only one I know from them is "Woodstock".

    “Land Ho!”
    The Doors
    Morrison Hotel

Honestly, I haven't heard this one, as well as the two above. All I can think right on the top of my head is "The End".

    “Kentucky Rain”
    Elvis Presley
    Single

I don't know much 70s Elvis, cause the only 70s Elvis song I have is "Burning Love".

    “That Would Be Something”
    Paul McCartney
    McCartney

Only got "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey" and "Live and Let Die" for other McCartney songs in the 70s. Haven't heard this either.

    “Samba Pa Ti”
    Santana
    Abraxas

Only know a few Santana, the only one I can think of is "Oye Como Va".

    1971

    “Tiny Dancer”
    Elton John
    Madman Across Water

"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" or Candle In The Wind". But I will give this a fair chance, considering I haven't heard it too.

    1972

    “Listen to the Music”
    The Doobie Brothers
    The Captain & Me

    DLC already.

    1973

    “Jessica”
    Allman Brothers Band
    Brothers and Sisters

    Instrumental... problem?

    “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day”
    Chicago
    Chicago VI

Haven't heard/ "Saturday In The Park"

    “Dark Eyed Cajun Woman”
    The Doobie Brothers
    The Captain and Me

So you're allowing two Doobie Brothers songs?

    “La Grange”
    ZZ Top
    Tres Hombres

    This or "Sharp Dressed Man"

    1974

    “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”
    Bachman-Turner Overdrive
    Not Fragile

This or "Takin' Care of Business"

    “Swamp Music”
    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Second Helping

Haven't heard/ "Call Me The Breeze"

    “No No Song”
    Ringo Starr
    Goodnight Vienna

    Haven't heard/ "It Don't Come Easy"

    1975

    “The Fountain of Lamneth”
    Rush
    Caress of Steel

    Haven't heard/ "Spirit of Radio"

    1976

    1977

    “Starrider”
    Foreigner
    Foreigner

    "Haven't heard/ "Double Vision"

    “Dust in the Wind”
    Kansas
    Point of Know Return

    - No drums and bass(?)

    1978

    “Eruption”
    Van Halen
    Van Halen

Any Van Halen really. But I do think that it's mostly a guitar solo. Not much fun for the other instruments.

    1979

“Another Brick in the Wall Part 2”
    Pink Floyd
    The Wall

Preceded by "Another Brick part 1/The Happiest Days of Our Lives"

Other than that, I like part of the set-list.

    1979

“Another Brick in the Wall Part 2”
    Pink Floyd
    The Wall

Preceded by "Another Brick part 1/The Happiest Days of Our Lives"

Other than that, I like part of the set-list.
    1970

    “The Wizard”
    Black Sabbath
    Black Sabbath

-I feel that "Iron Man" has been overdone, and "The Wizard" is just as amazing as "Iron Man"

    “Our House”
    Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
    Déjà Vu

-This song: is a very, very, very nice song.

    “Land Ho!”
    The Doors
    Morrison Hotel

    - "The End" was on "The Doors" which was released in 1967. I recommend "Land Ho!". Imagine the Doors as pirates... Pretty cool, right?

    “Kentucky Rain”
    Elvis Presley
    Single

    - Now that I listen to Burning Love, I think that's better.

    “That Would Be Something”
    Paul McCartney
    McCartney

    - Only one thing I have to say about this song: Paul McCartney is the inventor of beat-boxing.

    “Samba Pa Ti”
    Santana
    Abraxas

    - I don't know too much Santana either, but this one sounded good to me.

    1971

    “Tiny Dancer”
    Elton John
    Madman Across Water

    - If you listened to it, you'd probably say, "Oh, I've heard this before".

    1972

    “Listen to the Music”
    The Doobie Brothers
    The Captain & Me

    - I typed it in, realized afterwards that it was dlc, and forgot to delete it.

    1973

    “Jessica”
    Allman Brothers Band
    Brothers and Sisters

    - This is one of the Allman Brothers Band's best hits, so this is never a problem.

    “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day”
    Chicago
    Chicago VI

    - Not much I can say here. It's good. Period.

    “La Grange”
    ZZ Top
    Tres Hombres

    - "Sharp Dressed Man" was on Eliminator, which was released in 1983.

    1974

    “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”
    Bachman-Turner Overdrive
    Not Fragile

    - Came down to this and "Takin' Care of Business" and decided to go with "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet".

    “Swamp Music”
    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Second Helping

    - I felt that "Call Me the Breeze" was too obvious, so I went with a deep cut.

    “No No Song”
    Ringo Starr
    Goodnight Vienna

    - This is my favorite Ringo song. Give it a listen. It's epic.

    1975

    “The Fountain of Lamneth”
    Rush
    Caress of Steel

    - "The Spirit of Radio" was on Permanent Waves, which was released in 1980.

    1977

    “Starrider”
    Foreigner
    Foreigner

    - "Double Vision" is good, but I feel a heavier song would be a change for a Foreigner choice.

    “Dust in the Wind”
    Kansas
    Point of Know Return

    - Though this song is missing bass and drums, I still think it should be included for its sheer importance to 70s music.

    “Eruption”
    Van Halen
    Van Halen

    - I changed it to "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love".

    1979

“Another Brick in the Wall Part 2”
    Pink Floyd
    The Wall

    - I added "Another Brick in the Wall Part 1/The Happiest Days of Our Lives".

I agree this list could use a touch more of metal, so I replaced "Jungle Boogie" with this. That song is just...

I just finished posting keys, harmonies, and missing instruments. Check it out and tell me what you think. I would like to know if I had anything wrong.

Also: I will begin the Rock Band Decades: Hits of the 1980s one day this week or next or sometime soon.
