The former owner of the Whalers has been pushing to get a team back in Hartford, but other than him, I've heard nothing about people in Connecticut wanting a team back. I think most people are content with the AHL teams in the state (Connecticut Whale, who play in Hartford, and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers).

    There probably was, haha.

Coyotes fans are usually outnumbered at their own home games - sadder thing? They say that home-market television viewership of 'Yotes games is less than the team's average home attendance.

I'm actually not too surprised to hear that Coyotes fans get outnumbered at home games (though the television viewership thing, oy), at least when playing a northern team like Chicago or Vancouver. Same thing happens when the Panthers or Lightning play a team like the Islanders or the Rangers. Hell, it seems like more Islanders fans see the team play in Tampa then they do on Long Island.

it is sad how the Coyotes fans are outnumbered... the one game I went to was a playoff game against the Predators there the stadium was filled with Coyotes fans (but I know than normally does not happen)

here in Tucson it seems like every hockey fan is a fan of the Red Wings or Black Hawks

but Arizona seems to have problems getting fans... I remember going to a Cardinals game against the the New York Giants... Arizona fans were outnumbered there too

The one I've always found weird is that Wings fans tend to outnumber Panthers fans in Miami, and the Panthers actually have decent attendance... it's not like Atlanta was or Phoenix is, people show up to their games... guess it's still a function of that Panthers fans are often also Wings, Hawks, Flyers, Rangers, or Bruins fans as well.

On top of that, a lot of retirees in Florida (and Arizona, I take it) just continue to root for their hometown teams and ignore teams in their retirement towns.

As cool as that logo and color scheme was, the Quebec Nordiques are the most likely result for the Coyotes should they fail in Phoenix since Quebec City is building a new stadium to lure a team as we speak.

The Florida Panthers have decent attendance?!? Now that is a shock.

Yeah, came as a shock to me as well, but they're at least decent attendance-wise. I'm thinking the "snowbirds" down there are padding the gate totals.

So is Seattle, we're definitely trying to get an NHL team here and a rink is in the plans for the new arena.
