Really surprised how high Tool, A&A and Nightwish are. The other top ten artists I can see why they are there, but those three are definate standouts.

I would have expected them in the top 100, but not 10. I mean Van Halen, the Rolling Stones, The Eagles, all much bigger artists, aren't even in the top 10. Just my observation

There's no wrong way to go about it, it's purely for the users to have fun with. You're acting like those five extra points are gonna shove everything you've ever wanted to the bottom of the pile and you'll never see them in Rock Band.

Well...maybe...I mean all Korn fans who use the app basically just got 5 points...Korn was pretty high up already. Now lets just say for fun all of the Korn fans simply take the extra 5 points and put them back into Korn...Now repeat this for a few months...I mean, really it probably won't go down like this at all since most people are probably just voting once and then forgetting that the app exists...but this is hardly a fair system for extra points...just sayin :P

If this happened, if everyone who had Korn on their list, all ~80 of them during this quiet Beta, were somehow organized enough to all put every single one of their points on Korn... nothing would happen. Korn would move up the list a bit, but it wouldn't move their position in the list drastically, and it wouldn't necessarily affect when we'd release more Korn DLC. And then next week when we release more bands, more people will get more points and more bands will move around on the list.

The rationale, which seems to be the case so far, is that people receiving more points are moving them to new bands, not just piling them back on the bands they just got. One of their requests has been fulfilled and they can shuffle those points around and try to push for more bands. If people really want to try to "game the system" and put their points on bands that have already been announce, then I suppose they can do that, but it's an inefficient use of points, especially when the long term plan is to award points for additional reasons on a more regular basis.

What do you suggest as an alternative? People are totally welcome to voice their disapproval over how points are distributed (and we'll never be able to get song requests / DLC releases to the point where everyone is happy all the time), but it'd be much more helpful for us if you told us what you would like, what you do think would be fair and effective. So let's hear those counter proposals!

Well, with the current system the best thing you can do is take your 10 points and put them into 10 bands that you think will get DLC released soon. Then if you get a hit you can add 5 more bands ect...but whatev...here is my idea for extra points...

You should get extra points based upon the amount of DLC you actually buy...there are people out there who have EVERY DLC EVER...they should get like crazy points. I wanna know what they think should be in Rock Band.

Now I don't really know what options are available to pull this off. We have already seen that the game and this website can be linked together, there must be a way, or at least maybe with Rock Band 4 to tell the website how much DLC you have. as for the ratio of DLC to points...hey you guys are the boss right :P

I know GNF will probably say something about this but, I'm not so sure I'd trust the tastes of people who buy everything. It almost seems like it doesn't matter to them what gets released, they'll buy it anyway.
