HEADS UP, we've updated the OP to include a poll. Please let us know what you think of getting more points to use, how you'd like them, what you think about how we've been distributing them so far, what you'd prefer, etc. We're really taking feedback for the Dashboard to heart and a lot of people have spoken out against the current method so we want to see what people would prefer. Tell us!

Why not multiple choice? I like both rewarding bands that are announced, and the over time awards.

You want folks to keep it active, and both of those do just that.

If it's a game, you should keep a high-score list of the best guessers, and keep those points separate from the points used to vote for bands. I'm not sure why the good-guessers (or the true fans of bands that get added) need to be rewarded with even more votes. It makes the game a little bit more interesting, or at least complicated, but probably LESS useful as a tool for Harmonix to get a feel for what bands are truly in demand. I supposed that "more points" is one of the very few rewards you could give out in the game, realistically, so if that's what it takes to get more people interested in using the feature, then that's a good thing.
