But I'll hit you up soon so we can play! Hopefully Gowie is on as well and we can get all 3 of us into arena to go back and forth.
I'm getting better at playing defense, though I have yet to master the all important "ukemi" and then learn what "tech traps" I can do or need to watch out for. Stepping also remains a bit of a mystery to me, along with guard impact and the significance of the meter there.

I'll go ahead and add you as a "rival."

    Sounds good!

The Ukemi timing takes a little getting used to. My problem was I kept holding Guard when I hit the ground, and that doesn't do anything. You have to time your Guard press to when your character hits the ground. I also don't know of any good tech traps that Tira has. I tend to use GS (Gloomy Side) 44B when my opponent is rolling on the ground. That seems to track them pretty well...but other than that, nothing seems to consistently hit other than a low kick or swipe here and there.

They changed the way GI works now, not sure if you saw that. GI now uses half a meter, so you can't use it whenever you feel like it. However, there are auto-GI moves in your move list that you should check out. Those cost no meter and personally I think they're far more useful. I used to save my meter for CEs (Critical Edges), but I think I can do more damage using BEs (Brave Edges) instead. Of course, if I have a full 200% meter, I can combo a BE into a CE.

In turn, Just Guards are there and meterless, but I find the timing nigh-impossible. They seem to be really good if you can get the timing down, but I just don't play enough. XD

Had my first match against someone using a character based on Dampierre... and I won! Narrowly. And of course the loser ragequit right at the end of round five to deny me a win on my record. Losing to an E5 must be bad for your ego!

I don't know if it counts as a "tech trap" but Siegfried's double downward sweep attack against a downed enemy has made very short work of a few players who couldn't figure out what to do about it while getting up. As far as I know all you should need to do is crouch and guard. You can often get a ring out with it too. Othwerwise, there doesn't seem to be much discussion of what works for him that way at 8wayrun. His auto guard impact stance doesn't work against middle vertical attacks, so I usually get clobbered when I go into it - you can launch some powerful attacks from it, though. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to guard impact the traditional way. And I got the just guard achievement, but all five times it was really a random event.

SFXT comes out tomorrow! My team will be Balrog/Marduk (or King), probably.
In other news, I recently bought SFAC just to play SF3TS.
SF3 is one of the most amazing games I've ever played.

but once Cody is released I'll be reppin' him, I also need to see whats up with the tekken side of the cast and see who can rushdown the best

I've been using Balrog/Kazuya mostly. Can't wait for Dudley (my favorite SF character).
I just hope that Bruce Irvin from Tekken will be DLC.
In other news, I'm gonna start checking out the King of Fighters series

I'm rank E4 now. And holding my own against some C and D rank players in global battles. I still have a hard time against n00bs who use faster characters, though, they like to crowd me and can often beat me simply by not giving me a chance to get a word of my own in (especially Xiba and Maxi players.) Won't get them anywhere against a player who's any good, but it's enough to beat me unless I can keep knocking them down with longer range attacks before they move in.

So, yeah, CJ and anyone else here who plays SC5, let's get some plans on the board about creating a room sometime and doing some round robin sometime. I could get captures of it.

IMO, Street Fighter needs to bring back Birdie, Sodom, Sean, Q, Alex, and Twelve.
