Which is why it probably never would have survived a court challenge, IF it was even passed, IF it was even signed into law (both colossal 'if's).

This was never a realistic threat to the Anons and their torrenting.

Yes, unfortunately SOPA will just be the beginning, if people don't think the government has an agenda see Fast and Furious!

Good job, Anonymous. Use threatening fear tactics to get people to do what you want. That will totally make people supporting this bill think online terrorism is not an issue...

I wonder what Pelosi's reasoning is. We know Rand Paul's (further evidence of why that man's head is so far up his ass he can see out the other side).

I whole-heartedly agree with your assessment of Rand Paul, but I won't speculate any further. We don't want this thread to get locked on political grounds.

Fair enough, but my only point was that Rand Paul is the dictionary definition of a strict constructionist. I would hope that Republicans, Democrats, Communists, whatever, can understand why strict constructionism with regards to a bill dealing with the internet is a load of crap.

A good friend of mine once told me:
"If the government actually knew and understood what's going on in the Internet, they would have shut it down a long time ago."

Sounds pretty accurate to me (and he's a certified ethical hacker, whatever that means, so he should know what he's talking about).

What are the odds this whole "internet" thing will take off anyway? The internet's a fad that will be forgotten in a year or two anyway.
