    I haven't been too impressed with the 2012 albums, and several of my most anticipated records - the new releases from Japandroids, fun., Best Coast, and Ariel Pink - were enormous disappointments.

    Honestly, I think Not Your Kind Of People by Garbage is still my favorite 2012 release front-to-back. All of the other albums I've listened to have just had two or three songs on it that I dig.

    EDIT: Add the new album from The Presets to my list of 2012 disappointments. Eeesh.

    I'm still super happy with the new Mould. I just got my first listen of the new Mountain Goats, and it sounds strong, but I won't know until I've really digested the lyrics.

    I'm still pleased with this release, but I can't really be considered an objective reporter...

    Listened to the new Revocation EP that Scion AV put up for free download.
    Really good. The closer is easily the highlight song. Love the solo. For a (technical) death metal song, it's weird to hear music that sounds "happy" or euphoric.

    Listening to the new Borknagar album quite a bit(took me nearly 6 months to realize it was out and/or get it).

    Toss up between that album and Ihsahn's new album being the Album of the Year
    Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:

    i listened to TY today on the train to Chicago and it was very good, but a step down from All Eternals Deck, i'll see if it improves after more listens, my top albums of the year still so far are Celebration Rock, The Money Store, Silver Age, and Attack on Memory
