I really don't get the hype behind that crew. Tastes too much like ICP for comfort.

    Ouch.

I like them quite a bit, but yeah, some people hype them a little too much.

The new Crippled Black Phoenix album was great, and it was a huge relief that they didn't end the album with a couple of out of place songs like the last one.
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.

Very much looking forward to the full-length debut of Huntress as well as Black Breath's 2nd album.

Yeah. I really can't stand them, either. It's a combination of their insufferable public personas, the bad lyrics, and the insufferable personalities of their usual fans that does it for me.

They're just doing what the Gravediggaz did nearly twenty years ago, except fifty million times worse.

So... the Grammys make me wonder what the qualifications are to win, they're all over the place.

It's half cool, half lame that Bon Iver won best new artist. Cool in that Justin's awesome, and it's great music, but lame in that now all the pseudo-indie Tumblr girls are gonna be all over him, if they aren't already.

But I have to wonder how he won "best new artist", considering For Emma came out in 2007...

Bon Iver's impression on the heat-seeker's charts of Billboard probably did it. It's all based on sales at the end, and the ever growing opinion on "outsider" music caused mostly by the internet is just scooping over to the mainstream pile. I'm actually not all too surprised he was nominated (and won).

One thing I like about the Grammys though is that it's nice to include Jazz and World nominations.

That sort of an observation would first require that Grammy voters were paying attention.
