No Absolutes In Human Suffering is the best metal album I've heard this year.
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.

So that new Nachtmystium album was good. MUCH better than Addicts.

Over time I've soured so much on Addicts. I mean, it's not a bad album, but it suffers from going way too far off the deep end with regards to the band trying to be experimental with the black metal genre. I mean, I'm all for experimenting with the genre, but when it comes off as cartoonish, you need to take a step back and go "Woah, maybe we need to tone things down and pull back".

Silencing Machine, in comparison to Assassins or Instinct: Decay. I dunno. I wanna say it's not quite as good as Assassins. Instinct: Decay is still Nachtmystium's best work IMO.

I feel like you could easily make this argument about most Black Metal in general...

I dunno, I thought the new Nachtmystium was pretty bland. The Laurel Halo album is outstanding though.

Have you heard the Mountain Goats' new single?

    I liked it, I didn't love it.

The new Testament is actually pretty decent.

I didn't like it at all (too busy), but I'm not an Animal Collective fan in the least.

New Beardfish album later this month. I'm excited, even if they seem to be joining in with half of Sweden in chasing after King Crimson.
