Anyone who reads these forums already knows about the old and newly released. Give us the new stuff already. And how about some info on the previously announced. I would love an update on the Random Encounter and Jukebox the Ghost tracks.

Like I said some other authors wanted to do it this way, but if there's this much dissent about it, then we'll have no choice but to go back to the previous version.

I don't mind either way, but this is about you guys today

Granted, the past section is kinda good for those who may've forgotten about this or that track, but the present part is pretty worthless.

I'm not trying to be snooty, just giving my thoughts.
8/9/11 (Def Leppard) will be marked as the best day in RB history for me. HMX, major thanks for all this amazing DLC you put out!

While some people may have been up to date with every song that has been released since the RBN's inception, not everybody has, hence the point of some studios wanting to try to inform about older songs that may have flown under the radar.

That being said, if you want just an announcement, then we've got one for ya.

I believe this may be a first for the RBN, but we're proud to announce we're teaming up with the Canadian based folk-metal act, Scythia, to bring two of their songs to the Rock Band Network.

The two songs in question, "For the King" and "Dies Irae II", are from the bands 2011 release, Of Exile, which is described as
"...a musical tale of betrayal and redemption set in Scythia's unique soundscape that borrows elements from folk, progressive rock and metal. This album features a dynamic blend of male and female voices (both harsh and sung), classical instruments including cello, oboe and trumpet as well as professional sound design to give the album a larger-than-life appeal."

You can listen to these songs at the links below

Remember, if you like what you hear, check out and follow them on Facebook!
And, at the soundcloud link below, you can listen to their album in its entirety and also download their song, "For the King", for free, and in a variety of formats including: MP3, FLAC, ALAC, MP3 VBR, and more, for all of your audiophile needs!

Before I announce new videos and songs, I'd like to advertise a bit until my last video uploads.

Two songs have released from GigakoopsRBN since the last announcement thread. The first was Gigakoops' "Death In General." The song is so hard on guitar, non-authors debate whether the song is overcharted or not (I can tell you though that it's note-for-note). Don't believe it's nuts? Take a look at this solo. Reactions are priceless, too. So if you're into incredible difficulty, this should join your collection of RBN guitar songs.

This week, A Talking Fish's second RBN song, "(I Want to Go to) Space," was released on Rock Band. A short, sweet song about intergalactic adventures, this song is nothing short of fun. ATF even uploaded a new preview for you guys! So if you enjoyed "Cheesy Pop Song," you'll enjoy this, too.

So that's it until the last video uploads. And boy do I have some awesome videos for you!

You know me. I'm a man of the people. So if you want me to shut up about current songs and just stick with the new stuff, then who am I to argue?

I'm moving on to the 'future' stuff now, but the rest of you authors feel free to do your own thing

First up if you've been following our Facebook you probably noticed me mention that I've been chasing a band for a while and finally landed them. I also mentioned that I feel this yet undiscovered band is going to be our next Rishloo or Halcyon Way. Meaning that once these guys hit Rock Band Network everyone is going to be clamoring for more from them. Like Rishloo and Halcyon Way these guys are damn good musicians, and put together some amazing songs. We're working on the first track now, and it should go into testing in the next week or so.

Enough of me blabbering on. The band is RIBS and the name of the song is Brains Out.

A little about the band from Exploding In Sound:

There are far too few bands these days aiming to take over the world, but Boston’s RIBS seem to be up for the task. With a sound built for stadium audiences, their blend of epic alternative rock is already larger than life, and the young band has a stage show to match. Blistering space rock with anthemic choruses and mercilessly beaten drums¸ RIBS sound is primed with optimism, under thick layers of distorted guitars of course. The quartet’s range is truly special, as the band seamlessly moves from hook filled radio hits to slow burning post-rock rich in atmosphere and aggressive grunge to dark new wave inspired electro pop. Patience is a mandatory requirement for RIBS fans, as their carefully plotted moves and attention to detail can keep them away for extended periods of time, just making it all the more crucial when you get to see them live in action. Already earning comparisons to Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, and Radiohead throughout the press, RIBS are only getting started.

Personally I liked it as an announcement thread much better; it wasn't cluttered with all the past and present that was readily available in other threads.

I also think it served us better. Our purpose was to build RBN hype. With the old thread, instead of constantly announcing songs, we were able to build up hype for a whole month and have a day where RBN was constantly on people's minds as they waited for each new announcment to spring out.

Plus, they're less likely to miss announcements if that's all we post here.

Well, those were my two cents.
