January artist of the month?

Maybe have an artist or song of the week for RBN, and promote it during the DLC announcements on Friday or something? Post it on Facebook and Twitter...doesn't necessarily have to be an artist or song released that week from RBN. The Friday announcement time seems to be when most eyes are focused on Harmonix goings on, so that would appear to be the best time to do it. Maybe like an hour/hour hour before the DLC announcement?

Maybe the song or artist of the week will hold more weight coming from Harmonix proper? I know Fairwood has done one a day, and we've promoted our past material, but it hasn't had a whole lot of effect. But again that might change if it's coming from Harmonix.

Problem with HMX dlc is its not just HMX pushing it thats driving its sales but its also the fact anything they announce for the week also gets picked up and brought up everywhere else as well... from Xboxachievements.com to your big gaming sites like Kotaku/IGN etc as well as the more obvious sites devoted to music games themselves.

I suppose most people would notice the RBN AOTM if it was announced on a friday before the DLC announcement but it would be just for that short spell before it gets buried under the usual ephoria and despair by the different groups of people at what is announced as the main DLC. Even if it was announced at the same time as the first DLC of the week for any given month most would still just really skim Henrys post till they saw what the DLC was before praising/wenting and move on.

I'm in the same boat as Skode, I purchased all the artist of the month songs even when I never heard of the artist before. Sad to see it go.
