    Thought it was them but wasn't sure.

    the Rush cover was The Who's The Seeker
    That's it.

    and Tears For Fears should never be covered...they were an awesome band.

    With most of the covers in my list, I usually like the originals just as much. Disturbed just gives Shout the heaviness it needs. (I requested both versions for RB, maybe even TfF more) And Dios version is good, but I just usually like covers more than originals. Not sure why.

Instantly liked it more then AiC's version. And I LOVE the original.
    Opeth did put that sweet guitar solo in there, something that should've been put in the original to begin with.

    Oops I Did It Again - Children Of Bodom (Britney Spears) {who would have thought this existed}
    Children Of Bodom also do a cover of "Umbrella" by Rihanna. It's less heinous than the original but still pretty bad.

    Holy Diver - Killswitch Engage (Dio)
    I can't stand this cover. It's just not that good in my opinion. The only Holy Diver cover I've enjoyed was by Otyg

    "Oops I did it Again", Britney Spears or Children of Bodom, it's an awful, awful song.

    I'm not into the whole diva pop thing but Rihanna is an artist I'm rather content to, so a point favor in her. The only pop hit I've disliked from her was "Take a Bow".

    At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Children of Bodom covered a Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber song. Ever since Alexei stated his "What's wrong with selling out" quote, that band has tried and failed to be mainstream. On top of that, their original songs have been meh at best and bad at worst while their covers of songs by female pop singers are cringe worthy at best and F****** Atrocious at worst.

    As for Rihanna, she's not that talented as a singer and uses her body to sell albums (she wouldn't sell a damn album if she looked like the guy from Blues Traveler at his fattest). Also, her first single sampled off of "Tainted Love", a song most famous by Soft Cell but that version was actually a cover.

    I thought their early work was impressionable.

    Fully aware of "SOS", why I don't dislike Rihanna is her lack of bad girl image approach integrated into her music which is pretty rare in American pop music of today and it just annoys the crap out of me. Plus the music itself flows pretty well even if it steps into sampling at times. I've learned to cope with "corporate imagery". As long as the music is at least appealing I could even care less.

    I find it that anything that is supposed to be music that has "Corporate Imagery" in it doesn't mesh with what appeals to me as far as music goes.

    Back to what this thread is supposed to be about, cover songs that are better than the original songs...

    I have a Dutch, German, and Danish ancestry but I was born and raised in the USA. I just happen to like listening to European Metal bands that sing in languages other than English. Why do you ask?
