Yeah, Gotye's original could use a little more emotion. I prefer Walk off the Earth's cover myself, or perhaps the Bad Lip Reading treatment.

It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!
Pat Benatar's Helter Skelter
Nirvana's Man Who Sold The World
Johnny Cash's Hurt
Paul McCartney's All Shook Up
Creedence Clearwater's Proud Mary
I actually typed in Bacon Flavrd Peace in the searchbar....that's my band name in Band Hero.
I can't officially add this to my list, since it's not a concrete decision, but I have a hard time deciding between Michael Jackson's original and Ray Stevens' semi-bluegrass comedic cover of "Bad".
A peek into my RB dreamlist:
Simon and Garfunkel: "A Hazy Shade of Winter"
Icehouse: "Icehouse"
The Spinners: "Spaceballs"
"Boys Don't Cry" by The Gerogerigegege. I think he captures the human element of the song a lot better than The Cure were able to and in the process creates a far more resonant, impactful experience.

Earth's cover of "Peace in Mississippi" is just amazing. It really captures the Hendrix element, all while making it their own with loud droning guitars and bass. Awesome.
We need sludgey and droney and stonery metal:
Dirge
Sleep
Bongripper
Sunn O)))
Electric Wizard
Earth
Neurosis
Cult of Luna
