I'd ditch smell, but it's too closely tied to taste, so in the end I'd probably go with being mute. I'm a good typist, so I could handle not being able to speak.

And of course that would make SPACE even harder.

Actually that's not true. I played with this blind guy a few times and he was pretty good. He said he would learn the song through trial and error and would just memorize the charts. He hasn't been on in a long time though.

I would pick smell. My hearing already isn't great for some reason (I had an ear infection, it went away after taking anti-biotics, but I still don't hear right, I'm seeing the doctor about it), and I wouldn't want my hearing to get any worse/go away forever.

It'd probably be like if you were sleeping on your arm, cutting off the blood flow and then woke up, got up and it felt limp and you couldn't feel anything with it really.
