I'm disappointed that the Pearl Jam live tracks have (maybe) fallen into oblivion. The live version of "State of Love and Trust" is one of the best drum tracks in the game. Live PJ has so much energy.
Who doesn't love a good album sort? Fill in those 3's HMX!

Dave Matthews Band, I suppose. I'm not big on them, but that's mostly their schtick, right?

    Where's the DMB guy?

    Yes Yes YES, Agreed!

Every song on 'Stop Making Sense' is better than the studio version... and it blows my mind that a band can be that good live. If anyone hasn't seen Stop Making Sense you owe it to yourself to watch it.

I wouldn't consider the modern Maiden to be that great live.

When Blind Guardian's vocalist really tries to do well live, a.k.a. not "wimping out" on the higher pitch stuff and basically speaking it. He usually sounds better than the studio.

Also the solo's do usually sound better live for Blind Guardian. For example Majesty's solo in studio and Majesty's solo live

    Muse

Their official live recordings are brilliant. Hullabaloo and HAARP are amazing live albums (and DVDs). Absolution Tour is just insane, since it was recorded at Glastonbury 2003 and was the band's first time headlining the main stage and they pulled out all the stops.

I actually think the live versions of their songs would be more challenging in Rock Band since the guys tend to wank about with their instruments periodically in concert. "Stockholm Syndrome" and "Knights Of Cydonia" are more beefier live than the studio versions. Even "Supermassive Black Hole" is more exciting live.

May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?

There's more to live tracks in RB than just the performances, and that's the output quality. This is rarely ever done perfectly, which is why I'll rarely prefer a live track.
