I tried to vote "other" but for some reason it wouldn't let me. It did let me choose what would be typically my first listening choice out of those you listed; alternative (despite having always thought "alternative" is a rediculous label for a genre. Alternative to what? Silence? Music?). I would have prefered "other" simply because I listen fairly regularly to most everything and anything (not so much country, though. I don't have anything against the genre; it's just the country songs/artists I can relate to are very few and far between). "Other" also is for symphonic metal.

Same here lol. I almost chose Alt but decided to go for Indy instead. They are so similar that it really was tough to choose.

Classic Rock's #1 for me. Progressive is a close 2nd. But Rush fits both bills.

I hit "prog" with zero hesitation. In fact I scanned the list for "progressive rock" as soon as I clicked on the thread.
