Official: Wii U thread.. What do you think?

I'm interested in it bruther but I'm not sure about it at the same time. The controller is the only thing I see interesting about this system. It looks pretty awesome pal. I think it's one of those systems where you will just go oooo and awwww bruther. After the 3rd time it's not entertaining anymore dude. What do you think.

Check out the wii u trailer here pal

I'm almost certain I'm not getting it. I got an original Wii a while ago and played it a bit, but never anymore.

I will wait on this one. I went and got the Wii on release day and was just disappointed. Pikmin 3 will be my reason I'm sure

Well it depends on what you want in a next gen console. If you're looking for a unique gaming experience that you can't get from the big 2 then by all means grab a Wii U.

If you're looking for a high end graphics and cpu powerhouse, and the best iteration of 3rd party games then the Wii U is not what you want.

    Simple as that.

Sure the Wii U will be just as if not a little more powerful than the 360 and PS3 when it debuts later this year (November if it isn't delayed). However a year later when the neXtBox and PS4 come out, then it's going to be in the exact same position the Wii was in this entire console cycle.

So seeing as how you're on the Rock Band forums and I'm going to imagine that you're going to want the best console to deliver on that Rock Band experience? I'd say the Wii U will not be the console to deliver that.

Similar to the original Wii, this console will likely attract a specific demographic. Unfortunately, with that new controller, while innovative, will limit the the system just like the Wii did.

Same goes for the hardware. I haven't looked into it much, but my understanding is that it will be far behind Sony and Microsoft's upcoming consoles.

Frankly, I'm not getting one until I can consider it's library strong enough. We can already assume that there will a be a Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Super Smash Bros. I want to see strong third-party offerings that will offer me a reason to play the Wii-U version.
