Considering 3 canceled games of this one franchise, that probably only resulted in a money loss on their part, I think it's safe to say they consider David Jaffe's intake on it. Other companies would have either shelved the franchise or give the rights to a different division at that point. Yes, I remember Twisted Metal 3 and 4. It's old news and pretty irrelevant.

Also, fun fact, Jaffe had a hand in TM 3 and 4. He just didn't have AS much power over those titles. So one would say he's had at least somewhat control over the series ever since 1995, when this series was first created. Again, there's no way Sony doesn't at least consider Jaffe regarding the TM series and its direction. Especially as of lately.

Haven't got the newest one, but I love TM2 and Head On.
My signature character/ride was always Axel.

Another fun fact, one of those canceled TM games had its levels stripped and put into a different TM game. And seeing as how the other two games didn't get very far beyond the prototyping stage, I'm guessing the money lost was almost negligible.

I was not a fan of the demo. That's all i'm going to say.
I loved the old Twisted Metals though.

For people still having trouble with online play, patch is coming sometime between today and Monday, according to Jaffe.

Yeah, they were included as an extra in a port that had an extremely low price. From a game that potentially could have been a huge hit since it would have been the successor to one of the best selling titles on PS2. So, not just a money loss from how far TM Black 2 got before being canceled, but it was lost potential for Sony, financially.

Doesn't really support your argument, if that's what you're trying to do.

No, it doesn't, but you have it set in your head that Jaffe is the end all, be all in regards to Twisted Metal (even though that isn't the case, at all) so I've moved on.

Also, can't wait for that patch, maybe I'll actually be able to join a damn game. Haven't got into one in almost a week now, I don't have the patience to watch "Unable to Join" flash on my screen for twenty minutes.

Has anyone else experience spawning directly on top of an opponent?

Happened to me a couple times online, which usually led to chaos/quick disperse of starting weapons.

Also, kind of related, a Juggernaut spawned on top of the health truck and it wasn't able to move at all, which was pretty funny. Needless to say it made getting the Gold medal in that mission effortless.

If you moved on, you wouldn't have responded.

I'm not saying Jaffe is the complete owner, I'm sure Sony DOES own the rights to the franchise, I've only been saying they definitely put him into consideration when it comes to the direction of the series and whatnot and even provide examples that support that. You're just so fixated on thinking "nope, only Sony controls everything, Jaffe has no say in anything," which simply isn't true. Not all companies are like Capcom and Activision.

If Jaffe had no say, the new Twisted Metal would have forced DLC and probably a season pass (if not something similar to that). Axel would've been actual DLC and not early access to people that pre-ordered (Axel will be available to everyone else sometime this month for free). But, because Jaffe hates forced DLC and pre-order bonus DLC, the game has neither of those. The only thing that was beyond his power was the online pass (although if you buy it used at Gamestop, they'll give you an online code for free).

But, fine, believe what you want.

Jaffe hates forced DLC and pre-order DLC, and yet, there was pre-order DLC. Jaffe hates online passes, and yet, there is an online pass (good on GameStop for hooking up free codes though, they don't have to do that). Eventual DLC, probably in the form of maps and a new car or two will be in the pipeline (as long as the game sells) whether Jaffe wants it or not. Whether Jaffe has a hand in it is up to Sony and him, emphasis on Sony.

Now I'm done, no more responses because we won't see eye to eye on this, ever.

Axel isn't the same as regular forced DLC. One, he's completely free while being completely legitimate DLC, you rarely ever see that these days. He's not regular pre-order DLC either. He's "early access." In all other situations, that pre-order exclusive stuff is available on the online storesto everyone else, usually the day the game is out, and he would cost money. Instead, he's going to be completely free for everyone else. Like I said, he's not forced DLC and he's not regular pre-order DLC, and it's because Jaffe wanted it that way.

Like I said before as well, Jaffe said there will only be more DLC if fans demand it enough. So if there is going to be more DLC, it'll be because he wants to make it for fans. Not because Sony is forcing him or having some other company do it.
