When I got the game on release day, I spent a couple hours in the second Haytham chapter (the ship) trying to learn those board games.

There was a part of me that wanted to rush the game, but since the game world has pulled ahead of the real world (in terms of the date), I feel like I can slow down a bit. I got a great kick out of the synchrony for the release day and starting the game up for the first time.
May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?

So far the gameplay is pretty great. Classic cat-and-mouse modes return like Wanted and a smaller simpler version called Deathmatch pit you in a sectioned off portion of the map with no compass and no chase sequences with your character being one of a kind.

My only major complaint is the muddled menus of "rewards." I never played Revelations, so what I experienced felt much different compared to my time on Brotherhood's MP. Basically, leveling up only grants you access to purchase the rewards with the in-game Abstergo credits or the "pay to play" Erudito credits. This greatly diminishes the value of these rewards when I have yet another hoop to jump through of micromanaging my scarce Abstergo credits to either cherry pick or buy the whole set of what I just unlocked.

Even finding the reward bundles became confusing. I went into the Abstergo store only to realize in order to buy bundles related to leveling up, I had to go into Progression, then Leveling, then scroll through all the levels I had reached to locate the right level which had unlocked the reward I desired. I don't see what was wrong with Brotherhood's method of just getting rewards for efficiently murdering my fellow Templar agents upon leveling up instead of grinding for Abstergo credits to purchase a bundle I "unlocked" 4 levels ago.

To end on a positive note, I'm glad I can look at any of the menu's features WHILE a game is loading up instead of just staring and waiting for players to arrive or a map to load.

That mode existed in Revelations as well.

    Aha!

Have you played Wolfpack yet? I'm wondering how well it works (if at all) with random teammates.

I played a couple rounds with a group of randoms. We seemed to do okay, but it seemed like all they cared about was running headfirst toward our targets and getting spotted. I know we're on a timer and all, but we have to hit a set number of points to extend our time and move on to the next sequence, yet all they wanted to do was rush in for the 100 point kill. Our highest sequence was 12.

It does work I'm sure, and I have nothing against running to get to the target quickly, but I prefer to slow things down once in range. The game itself says "It's not about who kills the most, but who kills the best."

Ubosoft announced the Thanksgiving Patch today that fixes quite a few bugs and cosmetic changes.

Hopefully the deer-in-the-tree bug is among them. That one is just...just awful.

    Seems it is:

    - Greatly reduced the probability of animals to get stuck inside an object
It's nice that they're getting these things taken care of, but for a game that (apparently) had as much dev time as AC3 did, there's really no excuse to have had these bugs in the first place.

Are you talking about the 'animus pivots' thing? If so, I have no freaking clue either.

Reading that list of bug fixes, a I surprised I did not get any of them during my gameplay.

Thanksgiving patch was live when I was playing about twelve hours ago.

Finished Sequence 11 last night. Looking forward to finishing tonight if I can--no special Thanksgiving plans, what with most of my American friends absent (there's a belated Thanksgiving dinner happening next week) and no holiday celebration (duh).
DLC on DLCQuickPlay.com. Gamertag is the same as my Forum name. Hit me up if you wanna play!
