As far as I've seen in American media, it seems like portrayals of Native Americans usually have that same monotone voice thing going on. Red Dead Redemption is another game example. I can't think of specific film examples, but many films featuring Native Americans also seem to fall prey to this.

I understand it's difficult to get anyone who is actually natively fluent in native languages, which may also cause some issues.

The VA for Connor's mom is a native Mohawk. Her given name is actually the same as the character's name. So that's no excuse there. Noah Watts (Connor) isn't Mohawk, but he is a Native American.

I too didn't find much dedication in completing this game 100%. The economy system of crafting, trading, and shipping off products seemed like a pointless circle once all the naval upgrades were purchased. I know Conner had some upgrades, but they didn't even strike me as necessary.

The Captain Kidd missions were cool, but the ending reward was a big let down. So far nothing has beat the shining goal AC2 gave me with the Assassin tombs. I knew what the prize was and I wanted it really badly as soon as Uncle Mario told me. There was a true drive in completing those Assassin tombs, and while the CK missions offered a certain mysterious allure to his treasure, it opened up the possibility for disappointment.

Revelations is easily the worst Ezio game. It's like Brotherhood, only not as good and in a less interesting (to me, anyway) locale.

I finished the game the other night.

I really liked the story, right up until the ending(s).

The ending with Desmond felt pretty cheap. For example, the whole Abstergo launching a satellite into space thing is wrapped up in an e-mail message. That was the whole freaking plot of AC1 (which was carried over into AC2) just tossed aside like that.

Then the ending within the temple and the first civilization. I felt like there were good ideas there (Minerva's bit in particular), but overall it just felt like a rushed let down because Ubisoft "lost the plot" and just threw something together to make it end.

The epilogue to the main story was something else. I think the epilogue is the only time in an AC game where the consequences of your actions are actually seen. It almost makes you wish Connor had helped the Templars instead of the Patriots.

That said, it really was a fun game and I'm looking forward to how the series moves on now. I wonder who the new present day hero will be. I vote for Shaun.

I know I've given Desmond a lot of grief in the past, but after thinking about him for a little while and trying to comprehend the psychological damage of witnessing all of your ancestor's conceptions... Suddenly being bland makes a ton of sense, because I would never want to interact with another human being after living that...
