Which one was that? I've played them all except for the original Shogun and Napoleon, but I don't remember any Civil War-period play. The closest was Empire, which you could get to about 1820ish in the American campaign. Could you be thinking of a mod? I know there are tons of mods for those games, and a Civil War-style mod would make a lot of sense for, say, Empire.

Sid's version was based on the other version (which was based on a board game).

AC2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I definitely recommend finishing it.

If it helps, AC:B and AC:R don't take long to complete either.

AC2 is cool, and after AC2, I don't think I'd ever pick up AC1 again.

AC:B is shorter, but more refined for the most part. I just finished it, though admittedly I could have done so in half the time if I had chosen to ignore some of the extra side stuff (like building up the city).

Haven't touched AC:R yet, I try to alternate between game styles as I play to keep things fresher.

    It's AC2> AC:B> AC:R> AC1 for me.

Brotherhood was slightly better than 2 gameplay-wise, but I liked 2's story and variety of locations more.

I think AC1 should be played to get the most out of the overall story, but when you play it, stick to the main missions and don't bother with the very repetitive side stuff.

I agree the first one is easily the worst, it's not exactly a bad game just a flawed game.
    Still need to play Revelations.

Revelations is... okay. It feels a bit uninspired, both in level design and in gameplay (the only two major new additions, a first person puzzly bit and a tower defense game, seem out of place and don't quite work). It's also really, really short, and has a few story retcons that are a bit iffy. On the other hand, some of the parts (the Masyaf Key missions and the Altair missions) are really good, and the Altair/Ezio chapter of the AC story receives a worthy ending (the final 'level' is the best thing about the entire game, IMO and is quite touching).
