I don't remember how big pad-based dance games were at their peak, but surely the motion-based dance games can't have been that much smaller at their peak. If they were, then never mind.

So do you all think we are likely to see a RB4 before a new line of consoles? I'm not so sure. Although I am all for a download title (RB3.5) that adjusts a few of the current "features" of RB3, but only if it still works with the Stage Kit. Gotta keep my kids happy

I'm pretty sure I remember reading an article on Kotaku that said there would be no new Xbox in 2012 or 2013. I just tried searching for it and found a ton of articles that say there IS a new console coming out in 2013, but they're all dated back in January or earlier, so who knows.

Anyway, I doubt Harmonix would announce a new game for the NEXT line-up of consoles (especially considering Sony and Microsoft haven't officially announced their's yet) so I'm sure the next game would remain on this generation of consoles.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading an article on Kotaku that said there would be no new Xbox in 2012 or 2013. I just tried searching for it and found a ton of articles that say there IS a new console coming out in 2013, but they're all dated back in January or earlier, so who knows.

Anyway, I doubt Harmonix would announce a new game for the NEXT line-up of consoles (especially considering Sony and Microsoft haven't officially announced their's yet) so I'm sure the next game would remain on this generation of consoles.

It may still be released on Wii instead though, remember how there was still new PS2 games coming out when the PS3 was released.

True but it would make more sense to have it on the WiiU instead due to the stronger hardware so they can patch the game when need be which Nintendo is supposedly allowing when the Nintendo Network launches for the 3DS and WiiU.

Microsoft has repeatedly denied a new console in 2013. There seems to be a lot of sources that contradict this message however.

New console announced in 2013 maybe. I doubt ms or sony will release before 2014.

I thought the Nintendo Network was already present on 3DS as that's what it says you're connecting to on Mario Kart 7.

It is but hasn't been put to full use yet. It's supposedly to be like Xbox/PSN and will allow third-party developers to release content and patches/fixes for games. More than half of the launch titles for the WiiU will be 360/PS3 and 1-2 PC games that are coming out this year.
