i remember suggesting the addition of gamepad play in RB to expand more to casuals that may not want to buy a controller and i was called stupid.

Looking at this as some sort of "bridge" between RB3 and whatever the next one has calmed my nerves a bit. Going into the announcement, all I wanted was something resembling the tour mode in RB1 and 2. Seeing as how that's not what I got, I got really freaked out, and my mind jumped to "THIS IS HOW ROCK BAND WILL BE FOREVER?!" I realize that this is a tool to make the DLC for the franchise more accessible, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is actually a really smart move.

All I can hope is that we get some sort of comment like "Hardcore fans of Rock Band shouldn't be scared because the instrument RB game isn't done forever." That's all I need. Or an XBLA game that is just called Rock Band: Real Tour Version Game that only has a tour mode in it.
I would love these groups in RB: Daft Punk, Ratatat, The Blood Brothers, Oingo Boingo. That's all.

Wasn't there a way to play guitar charts with a pad in RB2?

If my memory serves me, HMX, stated in their initial hints, that this would benefit the RB community.
I see this as a win/win. New songs=YEAH!!! Yet another facet of Rockband, and for those who can't afford peripherals, they can still enjoy the game.

I can see a lot of the kids in my family getting into this big time. A neat way to enjoy music....loud, fast, and challenging.Yep...I like it.

Of coarse, I will never give up playing RB with all my instruments. But I think it has a lot of potential....looking forward to hearing more about this.

Ok, maybe I sound like a fanboy-girl, but I think anything that keeps RockBand going strong just makes good marketing sense. HMX Rocks!

Yeah, and they still haven't done it. This is 'adding a regular controller' as much as Unplugged, 3 DS, LEGO DS, and iOS did.

Not to be facetious...but why would they embed pro mode stems into RB Blitz packaged songs?

Because the songs instantly work in RB3, so they're already in an RB3-readable format within the download?

The better thing to say is, "lol updating 25 songs in one week lol."
