I just watched the trailer for the game and regardless of weather or not the game IS fun or if I WILL play it (buying for the songs for sure) the residue of the April Fool's boardgame announcement has colored my perception. The trailer looks like more April Foolishness.

Wow, to think that this is only one fifth of the setlist. It's already pretty great in my opinion. Two songs are songs that I've really wanted in the game for quite a while, and the other three are okay as well! Especially considering (since I'll be getting the game no matter what) they're technically free.
So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, good night.
It'd be super lame if Wii owners never got these songs, even as just singles. The five announced songs are plenty popular and would definitely sell outside of the game, and I'm sure the rest of the setlist is full of hits as well. Please HMX, figure out a way to make it happen.
It's not even the first Rock Band game to do this. The PSP and DS games were the same basic "mash buttons and switch lanes" setup.
That's my main concern as well. I think the two-lane setup was necessary in getting the whole RB library to work (easier to automate 2 lanes from the charts [or audio stems?] than four), but I'm not sure how long it can keep things interesting.
Except for Bark at the Moon, Mama I'm Coming Home, The Doors free pack, and the Schick pack.
Yeah, I should start my Rock Band Blitz song embargo now before it's too late. I want to experience all of the songs firsthand through the game, so I won't listen to the rest of the songs that are announced.
