I know lots of people that play Audiosurf or Beatwave that have no interest in playing Rock Band. It might be too steep of a learning curve, or maybe they don't want to buy a plethora of plastic instruments or want big controllers crowding their living room, or maybe it's just not their cup of tea.

So this game lets Harmonix get a cut of that action. They've introduced a new outlet for people who want to "play their music", and all these people will potentially buy RB DLC.

    Pretty smart business move.

And for the rest of us... hey, RB3 track pack!
Yeah, but for somebody just jumping into the genre...why pay $2 for a RB track when they can play Audiosurf and utilize their existing iTunes library cheaper?

Well it's a catchy chorus. I'm sure I'll have one of those "AAAH That's where I heard it!" moment soon enough.

It's not called a 'platform' for nothing. I could buy RB3 from the same area on XBL, for the same price, and use the same songs.

THAT part, I agree with. I can already play all of the RB songs and thousands more in Audiosurf. But just like some people like to play console versions of games over pc games, this gives them the option to do play a similar game from the comfort of their couch and with a controller (which some people are more comfortable with than a keyboard *boggle*).

But to that point, if people can play Minecraft on their computer, why sell it on XBox Live?

Don't feel bad--I didn't know that it was there either (it was released a month after RB2 launched). I just bought it.

This happens to me from time to time; I think that the last time it was a couple of favorite Psychedelic Furs songs that I never noticed were there.
