Also, people can't be surprised that there is a negative response. People were eagerly awaiting the next step in Rock Band, and this really feels like a step back. I aint hatin', but I hope this isn't the future of Rock Band.
    It's not a step back.

It's a hop backward, a step to the side, then a step forward.

Too bad HMX already did exactly this on the portable platforms. I'll be waiting on pins and needles for a proper Rock Band title to drop. If I can't drum, sing, or guitar, it's not really Rock Band. Thinking of this as a track pack only is OK, but it's still disappointing to know that this is what HMX has been investing work in and that for another year we will definitely not be getting a new Rock Band sequel... and presumably still no support at all for controllers.

I understand trying to drag in new blood by not requiring instruments, but the game has never REQUIRED instruments. I wish they could just give us a RB4 and include standard controller support sort of like this as a feature in the game. Or maybe just made it easier to use the standard controller to play.

    Bah.

    OFF THE LAWN WITH YOU!
Parappa the Rapper and UmJammer Lammy were both lots of fun to play on a controller. Mainly because there weren't any other game accessory options back then, but still!

I played UJL recently, and found that my Rock Band skills didn't translate at all. Or maybe I've even gotten worse, in that I expect to get away with being a little bit sloppy. Back then, you had to be EXACTLY on the beat, or you missed the note. Miss just a few of them, and you fail the song. Games were merciless back then!

Or maybe the game was just lagging from the HDTV hookup. Yeah, I'm going to go with the "lag" explanation

Now that I've taken a closer look, I don't know what to make of the apparent two-button input for each track. Is that it? Unplugged had four notes per track, and also used chords in the gameplay. The older HMX games at least had three inputs.

If this gameplay is as simplistic as it appears from the preview, I'm definitely less interested, which is unfortunate because I really want to love this game. I don't think two-button gameplay is going to be challenging/interesting enough to hold my attention and keep me playing. Hmm.

Not sure what to think of Rock Band Blitz yet. Looks kinda fun, but I am not sure if the fun lasts long enough. Well, after all, it's a track pack for rock band 3 as well, so there is not much you can do wrong when buying it as a rock band fan.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could play that with a drum controller or a plastic guitar as well? Just for an alternative option in controls...

Drums should be easy to do. Red pad for left movement, green pad for going right on the track, and the two pads in the middle for the tapping stuff. I could imagine that to be more fun than with a normal controller.

Why no Wii version? Or iOS, for that matter? HMX could really make a killing with this as a portable game. Will this game make an appearance on the Wii U? I've been wanting for a new Frequency/Amplitude type game but I don't have an XBOX or PS3, and I think it would be a little silly to buy one of the consoles just for one arcade game.

Size limits on the Wii Shop prevent that much high-quality audio.

iOS doesn't have the 3,700 songs to add in. If you want a 25 track Rock Band: Amplitude, just buy the one that's already there.

    I have so many questions.
The only one I will ask here is if the Live Stream tomorrow will be a Q and A.

I get a new game AND 25 new songs,

Thanks Harmonix. Now if it comes out on my B-Day (June 25th) I would be the happiest 33 YO on the forums.
