RBN Community Spotlight : March 2012

Okay...here's our last announcement of the day! (again unless something changes with our BIG announcement that we can't announce yet...then this wouldn't be our last announcement, but more of an announcement about possibly being the last announcement to be announced...my head hurts).

These guys are pretty talented, this song is fantastic, and we're happy to be working with them.

I know they're pretty much an unknown band, and hopefully one or two people might be fans, so I don't want to disappoint anyone so I'll just link to the video :

WOW, I'm shaking with anticipation. Roland and Richard make an amazing vocal duo, and I'm glad that they (and Roger) decided to make this band after Roland left Sonic Syndicate. "Phoenix Down" is a great song, but I just want to know Fairwood Studios, if you can PLEASE try to get "Pathfinder" by them into the game (I might cry )? Please!!!

Oh, and will the songs come out as double bass versions, or will they come out without it, then 2x bass added later?

I very much hope these aren't the only songs we do for these labels. And we have no official 2x plans but I can always talk with Carl-Marcus about it.

Are they closer in style to Nightfall, or In Between? If it's Nightfall, I'll definitely buy them, but if it's In Between, then, oh wait, I guess I'll still get them, but I just won't enjoy them as much =/

I'd say... about one of each, honestly. Miracle is more energetic, Infinite Sadness is (surprise) more melancholy. Without knowing exactly what you liked about one or the other, I can't much say if you'll like them or not.

How would you describe their current standings on giving you the stems?

Also, they have only 5 artists according to Wikipedia, so everyone has a 1/5 chance of guessing right. And AWOLNATION is there, I know a lot of people have requested them even though I've never heard of them before.

I honestly don't know...I mean at first they were like here's all our artists we want you to work with all of them. We signed everything, then the brakes went on. Then they were for it again, and now they're backing off again.

So it's 50/50 honestly.

We were set to get 18 tracks total from all 5 bands and then pffft. Nuttin.

Reap (Radio Edit): Ewwwww, is Radio Edit going to be in the final version of the song? It looks tacky D:
The instruments sound really rough, but they're not bad. The vocals are complimented quite nicely by the harmonies. It's not fantastic, but it's better than average and better than most of the other songs that TAG announced. I do like the bass though, and find it really cool and adds depth to the listening of the song.

The instruments sound really rough, but they're not bad. The vocals are complimented quite nicely by the harmonies. JUST TELL THEM THAT I'LL LISTEN TO THEIR SONGS IF THEY PUT THEM IN RBN!. I'm one of the people who gets a majority of their music exposure from RB, so that'll make me definitely listen to their songs! Also, they'll be super coolio and stuff.

Out of all the announcements made today, my favorite so far is without a doubt Venetian Snares. That's simply one that I thought would never happen due to all the sampling. Can't wait to see what these are going to look like. Definitely a very large incentive for me to get my Xbox fixed so I can playtest again.

In the meantime, this isn't really a new announcement, since I mentioned it on Twitter and FB a while ago, but I composed another song and it's currently in playtesting. It's a 9:54 long track entitled "Reson-8-R (Pts. I & II)", with the first half being laid-back, chilled-out downtempo, and the second half being energetic, in-your-face, fist-pumping hard trance. No preview video for it, unfortunately, but you can actually stream and/or download the full song from my Bandcamp page for the time being:
