RBN Community Spotlight : March 2012

Hey guys, first announcement of the day.

We're excited to announce that we're bringing the the female fronted rock band, Kandia, to the Rock Band Network! The song marking their RBN debut is their single, "Into Your Hands".


"Pure - raw - melodic - sensual - rock music that goes into your ears, through your bloodstream and makes your toes tickle. This female-fronted band sends positive messages never leaving aggressiveness behind but always ironically sweetening it.

On May 2009, Kandia entered the studio to record their debut album “Inward Beauty|Outward Reflection”. The album contains nine new songs and a remake from “Rise” - the song was chosen by Myspace fans to be re-recorded on the album.

Their debut album also features Charon's frontman JP Leppaluoto on song “Reflections” , which allowed the band to capture the attention of this Finnish band admirers and enlarge the fan-base.

Struggling to record their first video-clip ever, the band would release “Into Your Hands” video almost a year after the release of the debut album. Nonetheless, the video got exposure on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and counts over 35k views on Youtube. "

I don't really like the vocalist, but the guitar and harmonies are really awesome. And I hear something that sounds remotely like keys in the background. Why aren't those charted D:
And I completely disagree with lowering the guitar in the mix. It stands out really well and brings the song up. However, I do agree that the drums are a bit too soft.

Definitely buying the An Endless Sporadic songs, Impulse was chosen quite a bit on GH3 online so I remember it and the other songs if I remember correctly are GHWT/GH5 free DLC.

Rise And Shine is probably the coolest Anarchy Club song I've listened to so far. Which is unfortunate, because the other 2 songs that you put up by them have awesome names and I wish I liked them more. The drums are really cool and the vocals are ok and weird, which is a definite improvement over their other RBN offerings. The guitar is also really cool too. It's weird... It's like what I would picture Mastodon to be if they were good rather than ok :I

This just in, this song does a better job at being Mastodon than Mastodon! O:

Riddle Me This has a really cool guitar track and some sick keys, but the vocals aren't too my liking. But it's really cool to listen to. In fact, these 2 tracks are going to make me revisit the other 2 Anarchy Club tracks I passed, because they might have more potential than I thought.

That's a HMX-released song, too, not RBN.

Really? I always thought it was RBN. Oh, well, I still recommend it.

So, first announcement: A while back it was announced by TriumphantBass that the piece 4'33" by John Cage would be coming, featuring absolute silence for the whole track, but then this was cancelled due to negative feedback from the community. Well, I'm proud to announce that, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Cage's birthday, that a number of Cage's compositions will be coming to the Rock Band Network. Cage has been hailed as being ahead of his time with his experimental pieces and now you can enjoy them as they become released for the platform.

And no, 4'33" will most likely not be one of them.

Announcement 2: I said before that I would be working with industrial rock band Proventek to bring his song "Selfish" (the link is a full gameplay video), well now I will be working with him to bring the full, currently in progress album to the platform. Not only that, but a couple of his other musical projects will be coming too, so you industrial fans are sure to be pleased. While I'm on the topic, I'm also going to be bringing the full upcoming EP by Sunnyfield Lanes (I've already announced that their track "Antarctica" is coming). You can see some of previews of the tracks here.

I've got something else I need to do a little more work on before I can announce, but that shouldn't take too long.

4'33" would be an amazing party song and would always get played when I have friends over XP

Selfish has some really awesome drums and keys, but the vocals are quite...terrible. Same with the bass. I don't see me buying it, but it does have a really cool sounding (and by the looks of it, they look really fun to play) drums and keys part.
