A thousand thank you's for this portrait, Uncle Witticus. I like your take on artwork within artwork.

EDIT - Hmm, might play around with the shaping and see if I prefer an upper body shot for more detail.

I've always done picture within picture stuff. Almost every picture I've ever made has included a reference to older artwork with a poster or trinket of sorts. This is actually one of the few this year that I haven't hidden one of my daughters names within.

New story will be done tomorrow sometime. I tried so hard to do it today, but realized I have to run to too many places. I've got to sort out things with my bank for my Prague trip, get the tires changed on my car, do an artistic favor for a friend so she can watch my girls while Kate has work, and meet with some people on a commission idea. No rest for the wicked.

Ambush story time!!! It's a magical folklore story about what music means to Rockbandacom.

    The Sounds of Rockbandacom

It was a glorious day in the kingdom of Rockbanacom, for this was the day music arrived. Sure Rockbandacom has the same music we have in our world, but in Rockbandacom the music has magical qualities. You see when music comes to Rockbandacom a new land mass forms that varies in size depending on how much from that artist is added. Music arrives in the form of blessings that are granted from King Harmoneaux and his prophets whom are part of the Network. Every week King Harmoneaux and the Network try to build upon the massive kingdom, which becomes more beautiful everyday.

1 to 2 songs is required for a new village to form. These tiny little places usually get grouped together in larger land masses in one of the genre regions. However just because artist villages may be small, not all villages are alike. For instance Muse village is a beautiful place to visit and is a highly prized tourist spot, but the locals are crazed due to the pride in having a highly sought after village, but only ever receiving a blessing once. Then there are smaller villages that aren't as well kept like Tutankamon. Some villages are also simply strange like Journey village which The Don't Stop Believing district is possibly the most loved village in the land, but the Anyway You Want It district has been falling apart since the end of second era and is on the verge of collapse.

3-5 songs makes a city, which are where many artists fall under in Rockbandacom. Just this year alone Hall and Oats, Bush, and Three Days Grace cities were built, while former villages Korn, Sum 41, and Huey Lewis & the News achieved new status. So even older villages have the potential to up their status. 6-11 songs makes a State. 12-20 makes a Country. 21-39 makes a Region. Over 40 and you have a Continent which only 2 bands are big enough to form continents, Green Day and The Beatles.

Every so often, a special occurrence happens which is when a portal opens. The portal opens and consumes the world and merges it into a new era. There have been a total of 3. The portal is an important event to all the citizens of Rockbandacom for it brings in dozens of new songs with every era and the magic of the kingdom grows. However the shakeup of the world and adding new villages is not without its faults. Every single era some villages get shaken up and even lost into the void, sometimes the villages are uncovered and saved, other times villages vanish with trace memories of them ever being there at all. However even with shakeups and lost songs, the kingdom still grows and has been going strong for over 200 village cycles.

This is just a lead up story, stay tuned for Chiprent at Work coming up next.
