I don't automatically equate "Harmonix has only one of their songs in the game, even though many people keep wishing for more" with "Harmonix has no interest in the band and would ignore them if they walked through the doors wanting to hang out".

So no RB4 but a possible new on-line music game to take its place? I'm all for that! RB3 is long in the tooth. The entire GH paradigm is getting really old. I'm hoping for something new and exciting. As long as I get to play my Rolands with the new game.

I would like some more A7X, but its not a priority for me. I'm excited for whatever this new project is gonna be, only two weeks now until we find out! I hope it rekindles my wanting to play Rock band, which has died down a little over time.

Taken from RBA and Alex interviews. So I'm willing to bet it's a downloadable platform, ala World Tour. Maybe free, so everyone can get it. Only catch is no songs. So it will support current DLC, as well as future. More or less a free version of Rock Band that relies on it's biggest revenue, DLC.

This makes sense for two reasons:
    1) Supports the current fan base. New gameplay features as well as support for existing and future DLC.
    2) Being free, it would attract new fans. Harmonix always envisioned RB as a platform, this would be the final step to making all things Rock Band central to one platform everyone can afford. The DLC will help make back costs and profit.

Just a guess from me, but I'm willing to bet it won't be far off.
As long as it either allowed for RB3 to export, or just read the RB3 disc/game for tracks, I'd be happy.
